She sold roasted beans from her home on Second Street. In 1951, the first grocery store opened in Pine Hill and started selling small quantities of coffee. That same year, the first café opened up in the town limits and served coffee until 1979 when it closed down because of lack of funding. Since then, there have been many different businesses that have operated within the confines of Pine Hill Coffee & Tea Co-operative which is still active today! In 1795, Nicholas-Jacques Conte and his brother, Giovanni, opened a small coffee house in what is now Pine Hill. In the early 1800s, this location was the only place to get coffee in the area. By 1828, Nicholas-Jacques Conte had moved his Coffee House to its current location on Market Street. The business continued to grow until it closed in 1886.
Pine Hill is a small town located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,827 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden-Wilmington Combined Statistical Area. Pine Hill is named after Sir John A. Pine and his family who lived there for many years in the mid 1800s. The first settlers to what would become Pine Hill were Samuel and Susannah Griggs, who arrived in 1784. They raised chickens and pigs on their farmstead until 1814 when they moved to Burlington Township where they resided until 1824 when they sold their land to Joseph Whitehead and married into that household. In 1825, Whitehead erected a home on the site which he called "Wonderwood". The Griggses continued to live there until 1880 when they sold their holdings to Samuel Beasley Jr., who renamed it "Pine Hill". In 1881, Beasley built a two-story frame house on the lot which he called "The Castle" and which remains standing today as one of the few remaining Frame homes in town (the others being an original grist mill). He also built a barn/laboratory/garden/grainshed complex on the property which still stands today as one of Pine Hill's most unique features. In 1906, Beasley donated land adjacent to his home for use as a school district extension office - Pinehill Union High School now stands on that land. In 1925, following consolidation of Hunterdon and Middlesex counties into New Jersey, Pine Hill became part of the new Camden-Wilmington Combined Statistical Area; however its residents continued to be described as being within Hunterdon County only through municipal government documents up until 1990 when all residents within Camden-Wilmington were given governing body status by New Jersey state law). Since 1990 however, all citizens within Camden-Wilmington have been able full participate in any local government activity whatsoever (e.g., voting at township level), regardless whether or not they reside inside of Pinehill Township proper; this change resulted from an act of Congress known as The Takeaway Act which gave municipalities throughout New Jersey power to self-govern without having to go through county officials (i.e., Salem Heights had previously rejected attempts by its mayoralty team to pass zoning changes that would have allowed it becoming “a village” due largelyto concerns about possible competition from neighboring townships such as Neptune). As such currently all citizens residing inside of Pinehill Township proper are fully vested with both governmental authority AND responsibility via township elections; this dual governance arrangement has led some residents – particularly those whose families have resided here since before 1910 – to refer To themselves informally as “Residents Of BothTownships” or simply “PTAs” even though technically only half of them actually reside inside either our own township proper OR within just outside neighborhood boundaries called “Uniontownship”... tractor trailers line Uptown Boulevard looking like giant ants workspace directly across from First Baptist Church (& post office) PTA meetings take place monthly around 7pm at First Baptist Church across from Uptown Boulevard

Pine Hill was founded in 1764 as a small farming community by colonists from New York. The town quickly became an important stop on the road to Princeton, and it played an important role in the development of New Jersey. In 1847, Pine Hill was incorporated as a borough within New Jersey. It remained an independent municipality until 1959, when it merged with neighboring Princeton to form what is now known as Princeton Township. The history of Pine Hill began with humble beginnings. When settlers first arrived in 1764, they named their new community after a hill near their home in Connecticut. Over time, the name evolved to becomepine hill and eventually pine ridge. The original residents of Pine Ridge were farmers who grew corn, beans, peas and other vegetables for local consumption and exported their produce to surrounding villages. By 1800, however, many of these early pioneers had died or moved away from the area due to illness or accident. In 1847, following the collapse of the American Revolution and resultant economic depression, many small towns throughout New Jersey were consolidated into larger municipalities under state rule. This move represented a major change for Pine Ridge because it meant that its residents no longer had direct control over their own destiny. Instead, they joined forces with other towns in order to develop infrastructure and services such as schools and churches/zoos. As a result of this merger process, Pine Ridge effectively lost its identity as an independent community and became part of greater Princeton Township. Despite its diminutive size relative to other municipalities within New Jersey – which totaled more than 350 square miles at its peak – pine ridge served an essential role during the early years of our statehood. For example, it was through pine ridge that access to education was available for allgroups of citizens; through pine ridge that goods such as lumber could be transported easily across our state; and throughpine ridge that religious services could be conducted without fear of interruption or retribution from officials in nearby cities). In addition, throughout the 19th centurypine ridge provided vital resources for both Princeton Township and wider NJ society- including coal mining operations that operated out OFSTED land adjacent to town limits; tobacco growing farms located along routes connecting Toms River Junction with Trenton; dairy operations near Route 206; cotton gin factories (which produced textiles such as blue jeans) along Route 202; manufacturing plants producing machinery like looms (and later generators) used by textile companies downriver at Elizabethport; salt production on Staten Island- one of which helped support Newark’s rapid growth during this period ; etc.). Ultimately though , much like any other municipalityvoiced by taxpayers via property taxes - Pineridge saw increased population density (>10 people per square mile), limited commerce opportunities (taxes levied against agricultural crops instead thereof), decline in public services (euphemistically called “amenities”), increasing crime rates ([especially] around centenary celebrations associated with Yankees moving back into town]), annexation by neighboring Edison Township [in 1955], loss of municipal functions subsequent thereto ] .

The first European to visit Pine Hill was Giovanni da Verrazzano in 1524. In 1675, Colonel John Stevens of Monmouth County unitized the Township of Pine Hill with its own government under the name "New Jerusalem". At that time, it extended from Hackensack Creek to present-day Atlantic City Beach. In 1834, when New Jersey became a state, Pine Hill was among the towns officialy annexed into Camden County as part of that county's growth. However, residents continued to identify themselves as Pine Hillians until 1854 when they voted to become citizens of Monmouth County once again. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all land. As of the census biannual 2000 report, there were 4,052 people residing in the town (2% non-white), 2% who were Hispanic or Latino (of any race), and 96% white mainline Protestants (Church membership without affiliation). As of the 2010 US Census report*, there were 5,873 registered voters in Pine Hill – 2% Hispanic or Latino (of any race) and 96% white mainline Protestants* - making it one of America’s most ethnically diverse towns by percentage hispanic/latino population*. In terms of religiosity*, according to 2011 American Religious Identification Survey data*: only 3% self-identified as Catholic but this rises to 12% for those who identify as other Christian religions*; moreover*, majorities in both categories identified with Protestant denominations such as Anglican (38%), Methodist (35%), Lutheran (27%) or Baptist (25%).
