However, this type of coffee was also very expensive and too powerful for most people’s taste buds. As a result, beans becameground down into lessractive pieces which could be enjoyed more easily without having to spend a fortune on each cup of Joe! Palisades Park is a national historic park located in Hudson County, New Jersey. The park was created in 1892 as a result of the merger of several smaller parks. It is bounded by the Hackensack River on the east, Palisades Avenue on the west, and Arthur Avenue on the south. The park includes hiking trails, picnicking areas, and ball fields. The area that would become Palisades Park was first settled by Dutch settlers in 1624. In 1795, land north of what is now Palisades Avenue was annexed to Bergen County and became part of White Plains Township. The area around present-day Palisades Park was part of North Bergen Township until it was merged with Hudson County in 1892. The merger made Palisados Park one of the largest national historical parks in America. In addition to its role as a national historical park, Palisades Park also contains several baseball diamonds used for both professional and amateur baseball games over the years. These include diamond #1 which has been used for games since 1903 and diamond #2 which has been used for games since 1954. Additionally, there are several picnic areas available within or near the park including Picnic Area A (northwest corner), Picnic Area B (southwestern corner), Ball Field 1 (east side), Ball Field 2 (west side), and Playground 1 (southwestern corner).
