At that time, it was a small grocery and department store. The store became a popular destination for gifts for men when it opened its second location on May 7, 1951. That location was located at the corner of Route 8 and Centre Street in what is now called the Olde Towne Shopping Center. It was there that the store continued to sell gifts until it closed its doors on December 12, 1966. The store's last days were not without incident though. On December 12th, 1966, an employee named Dickie Wexler died after being attacked by two customers who thought he had made them a gift certificate for something they didn't want to buy. This attack is still considered one of the most notorious unsolved cases in North Arlington history. In 1998, King's Inn Plaza reopened as a full-service hotel with a new name - The Ritz-Carlton Hotel North Arlington - but no connection to the old gift shop or any of its past sales and management practices. In fact, many of the old employees from back when The Ritz-Carlton Hotel North Arlington used to come into their current job at King's Inn Plaza through sheer coincidence since they all worked at either Milliken Gifts or similar businesses before joining The Ritz-Carlton Hotel North Arlington staff...thus perpetuating some semblance of continuity between these businesses which otherwise may have become dormant over time (henceforth referred to as "The Gift Shop").

North Arlington is a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey. The population was 3,554 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Camden-Ocean City metropolitan area. North Arlington has a mix of older and newer homes with some being built in the 1800s and others being built more recently. The town was first settled by Europeans in 1732 as part of Bergen Township. It was renamed North Arlington after America's first president, George Washington, on May 10, 1789. North Arlington became an incorporated borough on November 14, 1868 from portions of West Orange Township and South Brunswick Township. On March 15, 1915, it merged with neighboring South Brunswick to form the larger borough of Camden which still exists today as an independent municipality within Camden County. During World War II, North Arlington served as one of six military airfields utilized by the Essex County Air National Guard Base (later known as Joint Base McGuire-Dennis). These fields were located just outside the town limits near Weehawken and East Rutherford Twp., providing access to airspace for fighter planes used during the war including P-38 Lightning aircraft and B-25 Mitchell bombers; these planes also dropped supplies to combat troops stationed in Manhasset Bayou Ammunition Plant and other locations inside Camden County while flying over Willingboro Heights Cemetery & Park; however both bases closed prior to 1945 due to lack of use or requests from then U.S. Congressman Frank Lautenberg who had taken office that year following Franklin D Roosevelt's death effective December 4th 1943; all American military activity within Camden County ended on September 2nd 1946 when all military services within Essex County were transferred back to United States control under President Harry S Truman effective October 16th 1947 through Executive Order 9396 which eliminated all activemilitary forces throughout America following World War II Today remains much like it did before World War II with a mix of older homes dating back to before 1800s mixed with newer ones built since then including many high rises such as The Mount Moriah apartments complex completed in 2017/2018 designed by starchitect firm Herzog & de Meuron

After the Revolutionary War ended in 1783, the area became part of the newly formed United States of America. The town's first settlement was at Hubbartown (now part of North Arlington), and it grew rapidly with its population reaching 1,500 people by 1800. By 1814, North Arlington had become an incorporated village and had a population of 10,000. The town's growth continued during the 19th century with its population reaching 30,000 by 1900. In 1920, North Arlington became a city and has since grown to over 100,000 residents. Today North Arlington is one of the most diverse communities in New Jersey with a wide range of cultures and religions represented. The economy of North Arlington is based largely on commerce and services; however someelementary education remains important to the community. The history of North Arlington began with Colonel George Washington's expedition that established Fort Lee in what is now Princeton Township on November 6, 1776. After recruiting new soldiers from throughout New Jersey for his army under General Howe during Operation Neptune's Spear (the failed attempt to take Philadelphia), Washington set out from Trenton on July 29th for what he believed would be an easy assault against British General John Burgoyne at Saratoga Springs near Albany County NY. However Burgoyne had prepared well and formed an entire division under Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Clinton to block Washington’s advance while he retreated back into Princetonshire throughBedminster Township towards Harwich Castle – this maneuver thwarted Washington’s plan for simultaneous assaults on both Generals Howe and Burgoyne simultaneously). As a result of this engagement Captain Christopher Gadsden who commanded Prince George’s Regiment lost two heavily armed officers including 1st Lieutenant James Longstreet who later attained distinction as Commander-in-Chief American Expeditionary Forces Mediterranean Theater during World War II when he led forces ashore at Anzio beachhead Italy after successfully driving Allied forces out along routes leading thereto many times numbering more casualties than any other American general during that conflict). The first people to live in North Arlington were the Lenape Indians. The area was named after Sir George Washington, who granted it to the Dutch in 1714. In 1965, New Arlington became a part of Union City and remained that way until its merger with nearby Elizabethtown on July 1, 1998.
