In 1808, the United States Marine Corps was born as a result of the War of 1812. The first Marines were drafted in 1814 and fought in the war. In 1821, the Marines moved to New Providence, NJ and began their tradition of sending gifts to Marine Corps members. Gifts have included items such as cigars, liquor, and rifles. The Marines have also sent flowers, candy bars, and other types of snacks to servicemen stationed abroad. This has resulted in many friendships between Marines and their overseas friends. The tradition continues today with marines sending gift baskets filled with various items such as clothing, electronics, vitamins, etc., to their troops stationed around the world. From 2003 to 2007, the Marine Corps deployed gift items totaling more than $2 million. The gifts, which ranged from -Lamborghini cars to fishing equipment and iPads, were intended as a thank you for support services rendered during Operation Iraqi Freedom. The Marines have been deploying gift items since the early days of war in Afghanistan. In 2001, Marines sent a shipment of Rolex watches and Ferraris to Afghans in need. In 2006, they dispatched an iPad with games and movies to troops in Iraq. And last year, they delivered 100 pounds of seafood to troops stationed at Camp Leatherneck in Okinawa.
The Marines in New Providence, NJ deployed to Operation Neptune's Spear in December 2006. The Marines departed from Camp Lemonnier on December 8th,2006 and arrived at the Naval Base of Guantanamo Bay, Cuba on January 4th,2007. On February 12th, 2007 the Marines delivered a gift to the people of Guantanamo Bay which was a set of Marine Corps issued M-4 rifles.
New Providence, New Jersey is a borough in the U.S. state of New Jersey and is located on the southern shore of Long Island. As of the 2010 census, its population was 11,611. The borough was created in 1856 from portions of two other towns – Monmouth Township and Bound Brook Township – by a merger of those two municipalities. The name "New Providence" comes from Sir John Franklin's survey of the area in 1784, which named parts of Long Island after various English cities and colonies that had been founded there such as Portsmouth (Hampshire), Plymouth (Dorset), and Bristol (IRELAND). Live music festivals such as Electric Forest take place annually in July at venues throughout town while summertime brings sailboats downriver to Enjoy Life Park for an open-air concert series called Cutthroat Summertime events that draw tens of thousands each year to downtown for concerts featuring local bands as well as visiting international artists. Overall, New Providence has come a long way since its inception as a small rural town on Long Island full of farmers, fishermen, farmers’ wives, tradesmen - all working together providing what little they had for themselves and their families during this difficult period following World War II when so many people left America for better opportunities overseas or else found work building ships or factories abroad. Today's municipality is thriving with businesses such as hospitals/medical centers/surgical centers offering advanced medical care along with educational opportunities including Mason Community College serving nearly 10K students online while also having adult education programs available at nearby Farmingdale High School which offers classes ranging from welding certification to culinary artsistry! There are plenty enough activities happening within our borders without needinglessly stressing out others who live further away by hosting large events or founding new businesses ourselves – something we are always striving towards here at NPDNJ!

New Providence, New Jersey is a small town located in Sussex County, New Jersey. The population was 7,422 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark-Trenton metropolitan area. The first permanent settler of what would become New Providence was John Norris who arrived in 1740. He and his family were among the earliest American colonists to settle in America. In 1814, after the removal of most of the British residents from North America following the War of 1812, New Providence became part of United States as part of Atlantic City Township. In 1821, United States Senator Nicholas Murray Butler proposed that Rutgers University be founded in what would become Newark and Summitville Roads were chosen as its streets. The university opened on October 11th 1847 with a group including local farmers and businessmen as its first students. In 1870, iron ore deposits were discovered near where present-day Garden State Parkway intersects Interstate 95; this led to an economic boom for New Providence which saw an influx of immigrants from all over Europe during this time period: Poles, Italians, Irishmen, Greeks etc.. This growth continued until World War II when industry began to decline due to competition from more affordable countries such as China and Japan. However, since then there has been steady growth thanks to new housing developments being built along I-95 and other transportation improvements (such as Route 9). The current incarnation of New Providence was formed circa 1960 when parts of nearby Princeton Township transferred into it – making it one of few towns/villages in America that has not experienced a significant evolution over time (the others being Waterford Village in Vermont and West Egg on Long Island). Today's community features a mix of Dutch/Irish/Italian families with some African Americans living among them; while many businesses remain open downtown or along I-95 corridor - including several banks (JPMorgan Chase & Co., Wells Fargo & Company), bookstores ( Barnes & Noble) and restaurants (Pizza Hut、Chili’s Texaco). There are also several dozen independent businesses clustered around central business district but outside the Loop; these include hair salons (Barneys Salon), pharmacies (! providenciapharmacy), appliance stores (/ Home Depot), art galleries (/ Montero Galleries) etc..
New Providence was founded in 1695 by the Dutch. It was part of New Netherland and became an English colony in 1764. The town was renamed New Providence after General George Washington's victory at Trenton in 1781. In 1834, the town granted voting rights to all males over 21 years of age.
