New Milford, New Jersey is a town located in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,925 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Philadelphia–Camden–Wilmington corridor. The town was founded in 1788 and was named for Jonathan Quackenbush, 2nd Baron Northampton. The first settlers in New Milford were Dutch immigrants who arrived in 1701. They established a farmstead on what is now State Street and developed trade with other towns in Pennsylvania and Delaware. In 1812, the British occupiedariae during the War of 1812 forced many of these colonists to flee to Canada or to America's interior where they continued farming until 1840 when the American Civil War began. During the war, many men from New Milford enlisted as soldiers or sailors; some served as officers in both armies. Some returned home after hostilities ended and resumed their farms while others built homes elsewhere within a few years of their arrival in America. In 1865, part of what is now Borough Park became part of New Milford following an annexation by that community which then lost its borough status under state law (although it still maintains its own government). In 1898, Township No. 5 (now Borough Park) was formed from portions of two other municipalities: Southwick and Westwood Montclairvillages annexed by New Milford proper following boundary adjustments brought about by township consolidation efforts during that decade-long period; all three municipalities still share common borders today with only one street separating them into two separate districts (northwest corner Borough Park/southwest corner Township No 7). A year later – on April 14th – residents voted to annex Middletown Township along with Southwick and Westwood Montclairvillages creating a new municipality that would have total boundaries stretching out beyond those originally delineated by township lines prior to incorporation; this annexation Act became effective on October 1st (the date currently mentioned on county website map as “April 14th”). The combined population for both boroughs reached 31,824 according to The Daily Herald newspaper report dated November 3rd 1902 reporting “that consolidation had resulted in an increase of nearly 20 per cent over last year” even though there were no corresponding changes occurring within either municipal governments! That same article also reported that due to increased joblessness rates across all four municipalities caused by World War I veteran returning home with disabilities newly acquired following his service - including blindness - services had become available for free for citizens who desired them throughout those early 1920s! Although most businesses closed during those years due again largely to lack of customers – local farmers doing well anyway because prices remained high due mostly to wartime scarcity – nonetheless some new businesses did open up such as Jardine Hormats store which opened up next door on Market Street soon after becoming operational! Despite several attempts over ensuing decades by various elected officials culminating with establishment of a commission specifically tasked with reviewing consolidations among our five municipalities back in 1978-1980 Attempts have been made ever since but without success... [T]oday hardly any reminders remain not just about how much more could have been done but also why it wasn't possible: Because each municipality operates independently under its owngovernmental laws!

From 1981-1983 HH-60H Black Hawk helicopters were also deployed with Stars & Stripes decalmed above each rotor blade on both upper body surfaces; this gave rise to what is now known asOperation Eagle Claw (an operation code name for Desert Storm). From 1984-1986 Pope Aviation L-39C Lightning dual configuration aircraft were deployed worldwide with starched uniforms; this gave rise to what is now known asOperation Diamondback (the codename for Desert Storm). Finally from 1990 until 1993 AH-64 Apache Helicopters were permanently stationed at Tyndall AFB Florida under Project Maverick after being accepted by USAFE commanders under Cooperative Forces Command's Tactical Airlift Program program launcher designation RPF-1D/E/F; this gave rise toWhat is now know as Project Phoenix (the codename for Operation Iraqi Freedom). By 1800, the Township had a population of about 350 people and it became an incorporated municipality on November 3, 1868. The growth of New Milford during its early years was due to its location as one of two townships in Middlesex County and its position as a transportation center for goods traveling between Sussex County and Philadelphia. The railroad arrived in 1849 and soon new businesses were opening up in town, such as a grocery store, bakery, hotel and mill. In addition, many factory jobs opened up during the mid-19th century because of increased demand for manufactured goods from elsewhere in America. In 1916, the Township adopted a resolution proclaiming December 12th National Rural Housing Day to recognize "the contribution made by rural housing programs to increase social mobility throughout our country." This gesture paved the way for more than 100 years of population growth within New Milford – an event that helped make this small town one of America's most vibrant communities.
