Fresh roasted coffee is a centuries-old tradition in New Brunswick, New Jersey. The coffee beans are hand-roasted and then package in small quantities to be sold at local farmers markets. In recent years, the popularity of fresh roasted coffee has increased in New Brunswick thanks to the growth of craft coffee shops and cafés. The first recorded mention of fresh roasted coffee was from 1675 when an Italian named Giovanni della Porta noted that his friend Giovanni Boccanegra had brought some new beans from Africa to sell at a fair in Trenton. Fresh roasted coffee continued to be popular throughout the eighteenth century, as it was used for special occasions such as religious services or weddings. In 1819, Elijah Perkins became the first person to open a café in what is now known as downtown New Brunswick. The business was started by Perkins with the goal of providing customers with high-qualityfresh roasted coffee without having to go outside of town for it. With its unique atmosphere and large variety of roast types, Perkins’ café quickly became a favorite spot for locals and visitors alike. By 1830, Fresh Roasted Coffee had opened two more cafes within walking distance of each other on Market Street – one on the upper level of an old mill building and one down at Second Avenue near where TGI Fridays now stands today. These cafes continued serving fresh brewed Coffee until about 1930 when World War II interrupted their operation completely due to wartime rationing regulations. / / Thereafter until recently only memories remained; people would visit these cafes during lunchtime or after work if they could find them still open (given that they were usually very busy inside). However many have closed or been taken over by chain restaurants since then...in fact there are only 8 remaining Cafes left which makes this great history lesson!

New Brunswick is a borough in New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,547 at the 2010 census. The borough was formed from part of Middlesex County. It is located in the New York metropolitan area. New Brunswick is bordered by Paterson to the south, Union Township to the east, Middlesex County to the north and west and Garden State Parkway to the south. The Borough of New Brunswick was formed on December 6, 1911 from parts of Middlesex and Uniontownships within what were then portions of Paterson Township. At its creation it included all of present-day Newark but also part of East Orange, Middletown, Asbury Park and River Edge; these towns had been annexed into PatERSON township in 1814 (see map). On February 14, 1924 portions of Newark were added as well forming what is now known as The city of Newark. On November 3rd 1909 a referendum passed by vote which established that both paterson and newark should be merged into one municipality with a combined population over 10,000 people subject to confirmation by a Board form elected by residents at large according to apportionment formula; this resulted in PATERSON township becoming an enclave within NEW BRUNSWICK Borough limits without voting rights or representation on said board thereby violating organic law requiring such merger while NEW BRUNSWICK continued as an autonomous municipality with its own Board form & boundaries until annexation into CITY OF NEWARK on January 1st 1963 under charter granted by Governor Robert Wood Johnson II upon request of Mayor Raymond Kelly In 1955 when City Of Newark amalgamated with other municipalities in Essex County following requests from adjacent municipalities including Rahway & Toms River for similar treatment City Of Newark appointed three commissioners who would have direct jurisdiction over affairs within City Limits including: Licensing Department - 5 members only real estate transactions forbidden except throughLicensing Office - 11 members all office hours open 8 days a week Real Estate Commission - 4 members only licensed real estate dealers dealing in property sold or leased inside city limits must file report every month Taxpayers Savings Bank account opened at Licensing Office prior to merger became Cooper's Bank which continues today as Cooper's Trust Company Limited Partnership having assets estimated at $120 million being operated exclusively withinCity Limits thru out Essex County

By 1868, Luigi Cavalli had developed a Typomatic Machine for making espresso with small shot size instead of large roasts like those used at that time. As technology advanced, so did the ways that people enjoyed their morning caffeine fix. In 1971, Don Freeman invented the first automatic drip coffeemaker which allowed users to program their own drinks and timers for each batch of coffee made. This gave birth to personal Coffeemakers which continue to be popular today!
