Middlesex is a borough in New Jersey, United States. It was formed on February 14, 1911 from the portions of Rahway andUniontown. Middlesex is located on the Delaware River at the eastern edge of the state. The population was 26,708 (2010 Census) and is one of nine municipalities in New Jersey that are included in the Camden-Emmitsburg Combined Statistical Area. According to The Daily Journal's 2011 municipal report card, Middlesex ranks as one of "the most economically vibrant cities in New Jersey". The city was founded by English settlers who arrived during the early 17th century. From its inception until 1814, when it became a part of Philadelphia County, Middlesex was an agricultural community with landowning families farming produce such as wheat, corn, beans and clover. By 1830 however, Middlesex had become an industrial center due to its location on river routes connecting Philadelphia with other parts of Pennsylvania and Delaware County. In 1844, Newark began to grow rapidly due to waves of immigration from Eastern Europe which led to increased manufacturing activity in Newark and throughout New Jersey; this growth caused First Presbyterian Church (now Morristown Presbyterian) to be built in what is now downtown Newark in 1840. By 1850 there were over 100 businesses operating out of downtown Newark alone. In 1853 Borland Bros., makers of artificial turf for football teams across America started production outside town on Demarest Avenue using water from Trenton Reservoir; this led to development along Trenton Avenue around what is now home plate at Shea Stadium which originally consisted of four small lots side by side - today’s Giants Stadium complex occupies three acres including that lot - all prior property being used for agriculture or other light industrial uses only! With rising competition from more southern towns like Wilmington and Elizabethtown NJ rapid annexation occurred making Middlesex one of the fastest growing municipalities ever recorded according to NJDEP statistics! With advances in transportation methods and new technologies like electricity that made locating factories easier many factories moved into MiddlesEX during this time; some examples include: Edison Electric Light Company (now National Grid), American Tobacco Company (Atkinsylvania), Pfeiffer & Sons Paper Merchants Incorporated (later Peregrine Paper Stores), Jardine Rubber Co., Empire Glass Factory etc….Today these defunct companies have been replaced by new companies such as PNC Banknorthwest Corporation which has its headquarters just east off I-95 exit 9A near Exit 8B – formerly Anheuser Busch Brewery – another example being Drexel University who relocated their main campus about two miles south along I-95 between SH93/I-495 exit 10A and I-295 exit 11C…..Many mills closed down during prohibition but a few managed to reopen including Hormel Foods Corp./PepsiCo soft drink plant opened up on Roosevelt Boulevard opposite Princeton University after years closure/ renovation inside old post office building…… manufacturing declined significantly following World War II but restarted thanks largely to postwar suburban migration especially within commuting distance good jobs became available through government programs like matching funds for apprenticeship programs….. Today much higher quality employment opportunities can be found through professional services firms such as law enforcement agencies such as Rutgers University–Newark Campus Police Department….. large multinational corporations such as Google Inc., Facebook Inc., Apple Inc., Amazon Web Services have locations both within commuting distance via expressways exits 4A & 4B & their own HQs within walking distance…. Many small businesses also operate within commuting distances today though some larger ones have left town because they could not compete with larger competitors…..Middlesex has seen significant redevelopment over recent decades particularly around areas near Interstate 95 where many high end commercial properties have been built………….. [Middlesx] remains an economically vibrant city despite seeing continuous decline since World War II

Middlesex County, New Jersey is a county located in the northeastern United States. The population was 153,871 at the 2010 census. Middlesex is considered part of the Philadelphia metropolitan area and is bordered by Pennsylvania to the east, Delaware to the north, and Atlantic City to the west. Middlesex County was established on March 10, 1764 as one of seven counties formed from portions of Monmouth (now Neptune) County. The name "Middlesex" originated from an ancient Anglo-Saxon place called "Midsomer." In 1684, English colonists from Plymouth Colony founded a settlement at what is now Middleton in Middlesex County after crossing the Delaware River. The first courthouse in Middlesex County was built in 1736 at what is now Millville. Over time, many other settlements were founded in and around MiddlesEXtown including South Amboy, East Brunswick Township and North Brunswick Township. In 1806, when New Jersey became a U.S. state following its creation via the Louisiana Purchase, Middlesex became part of New York because that state included much of what would become New Jersey after it gained independence from Great Britain that year. However, most people living within MiddlesEXtown continued to identify with their original home country until becoming citizens of the new U.S. state during its ratification process in 1832-33 In 1838-39 additional land was acquired near Bordentown for use as a military reservation known as Cumberland Heights which doubled as an agricultural district hostile to large estates owned by Irish Americans who had come to inhabit Parts Unknown during America's economic expansion following Independence War victory over Spain). The county seat from 1837 through 1919 was Elizabethtown; however due to changes in municipal boundaries made after World War I (the former Elizabethtown municipality became Rahway),Elizabethtown again served as county seat beginning in 1920 until finally being moved to Freehold Township beginning in 1974
Middlesex County was established on March 14, 1708 as a result of the partition of New Jersey. The area now includes much of Newark and Essex County, but is mostly in Middlesex. Its population at the time of its creation was over 100,000 people. The county was named for Middlesex (England) because of the many miles of high ground that separate it from neighboring Essex and Atlantic Counties. The first government center in what is now Middlesex County was located in Westfield, New Jersey on the border with Essex County. In 1714, the first courthouse in what is now Middlesex County was built in Middletown. In 1776, during the American Revolution, British troops burned down three churches in Middletown; one by Rev. John Woolridge and two by Mrs. Elizabeth Woolridge were rebuilt within a few months using local labor and withoutBritish assistance. This event is memorialized by a plaque near the old courthouse which read “Herein we burnt three Protestant Churches . . . yet God did not leave us barren” During World War II, aircraft manufacturer Curtiss-Wright produced plants in both Newark and Middletown; these plants supplied parts for B-17s used by the United States Air Force during World War II. The plant closed after the war but left an indelible mark on both towns with their distinctive architecture which can still be seen today on nearby highways
