What is coffee? Coffee was first brewed in Ethiopia. It is believed that the first Arab traders brought coffee to India in the 6th century. By 1492, Portuguese traders had discovered and traded with Africa and began importing coffee from Ethiopia. Coffee beans were grown in areas such as Sumatra and Java, but it was Martini who introduced espresso to Italy in 1795. In 1847, an American named John D’Arcy McGee began brewing coffee at a small mill near Newark, New Jersey. This led to the First World War when America needed caffeine for battlefield purposes and European sources refused to provide it. The war provided an opportunity for McGee to improve his equipment so that he could produce better quality coffee than ever before. In 1951, Dutchman Piet Oudolf discovered ground catechu (a tropical tree) in Indonesia which gave him the idea of using grinding methods other than water-based roasting to roast beans more evenly. He called this new method “ dark roast” because of its sweetness and body while still retaining some of the bitter flavors characteristic of true espresso. Dark roasts became popular throughout Europe and many Americans followed suit soon after!

At times contentious - especially during his tenure as mayor (1815-1821) - he remains widely respected today for his impressive record as both an administrator and developer within municipal government. In 1834, Madison became an incorporated village when it joined Morris Township which had been formed two years earlier by merger of several villages including Easton and Southwick along with West Milford Township which had come into being just two years earlier upon creation of Union County from portions of Middlesex County[2]. With these changes came increased development opportunities for Madison although many residents still lived close to their homes or villages –albeit on larger lots – until well into the 20th century[3]. During this time active businesses included grocery stores,, banks,, law firms,, breweries,, shoe stores,, auto garages etc.. This growth led to increased traffic congestion on local streets which began to take their toll even before automobiles had reached widespread use[4] By 1910 only 9%of all households were composed entirelyof family members while almost 60%contained someone working outsidethe household[5]. In 1836, Nicholas-Jacques Conte founded La Taza de la Granja del Espresso (The Large Factory of Roasted Coffee) in Buenos Aires, Argentina – one of the earliest cafes in South America where people could enjoy delicious cup after cup of unique flavor-rich coffee from thirty miles away from any city center! La Taza quickly became one of Americas most popular cafés thanks to its innovativeRoast methods which included pits that roasted not only whole beans but also whole kernels; this gave each bean its own distinctive flavor profile which makes each cup truly unique
