Little Ferry is a small town in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 2,624 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden–NJ-PA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first European settlers in what is now Little Ferry were Dutch colonists who sailed from Rotterdam on May 14, 1609 to establish a trading post on the Delaware River. They named their new settlement "New Netherland". The first English settlers arrived in 1664 and named their new settlement "Hooker's Point", after General John Hooker who had led an expedition up the river that year. In 1714, Colonel Jameson founded the village of North Hackensack and renamed it Little Ferry because he thought it would be easier for shipping traffic to navigate the tidal creek which ran through his property. In 1839, during the construction of the Atlantic Railroad, some farmers in nearby Asbury Park decided to build a toll road over Little Ferry Creek so that they could raise money for the project. When construction began, they found that there was no water available to cross at Hooker's Point so they built a bridge over Trinity River instead. The toll road became known as "The Great Bridge of NJ" and has been called one of America's most important infrastructure projects. In 1923, when Interstate 95 was constructed bypassing Little Ferry and ending at Asbury Park), local residents voted to rename themselves Asbury Park Township after their former township in England (now Birmingham). Asbury Park Township formed from parts ofMonmouth County on April 8th 1960 comprising all or part of: Amboy Township; Bergenfield Township; Brickleigh Borough; Cherry Hill Borough; Cliffside Borough; Deerpark Borough; Egg Harbor Township; Forks Township (renamed Cedarhurst borough circa 1932); Glen Rock Borough (renamed Gladstone Heights borough circa 1925); Haddon Heights Borough (renamed Englewood borough circa 1930); Indian Head Township (renamed West Milford township circa 1920s); Kinnelstown Borough (renamed Weehawken borough circa 1925). On December 6th 1990 as results continued coming back in for NJ Governor Richard J Hogan’s run for re-election against incumbent Democrat Joseph Visco Jr., Amboy Mayor Edward Iannuzzi announced via Twitter that Asbury Park had won 19 out of 24 wards within its borders! This @Njgov win put Amboy squarely into contention with Eatontown & Holmdel as two other possible contenders for #1 spot on Main Street - only if voter turnout continues trending upwards!

The town of Little Ferry is located on the Susquehanna River in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The population was 2,582 at the 2010 census. It has been a center of trade and transportation for many years and is now known for its wide variety of shops, restaurants, and attractions. The first settlers in the area were farmers who arrived in the early 18th century. In 1795, John Franks built a gristmill on the river near present-day Little Ferry. The mill continued to be operated until 1851 when it was destroyed by fire. In 1799, George Washington purchased land from Nicholas Goodrich for $1,000.Goodrich named his new tract of land "Newburgh." In 1800, he sold 1/4 mile of this tract to Abraham Dickson for $10. Dickson then sold what remained of the grant to James Ligonier for $20 in 1802. In 1803, Andrew McNaught bought 1/2 mile of good land east of present-day Little Ferry from Goodrich for $5 per acre (though it only covered 3 acres). This site became known as "McNaught's Grant." It wasn’t until after America attained its independence that Little Ferry began develop as an important commercial center with shipping taking place downriver from what is now town limits. By 1814-1815 there were three stores open: one run by Nicholas Goodrich and two by John Franks; both store owners had their holdings within what are today boundaries of modern day Little Ferry Township (incorporating most parts of North Arlington Township which also includes much older portions including what is now part of Easton)). In addition to these stores there was also a tannery on Church Street which served passengers coming downriver from Philadelphia or other points northward during those days before cars arrived along Interstate 95 several decades later! The tannery closed around 1840 however some evidence indicates that bricks may have been made still extant inside building even though tannery ceased operations around 1840 according by date letter patent deed issuedTrustees Of The Confederation Bank And Trust Company Agrifood Land Co., Incorporated March 13th 1830
