Lindenwold is a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 7,569 at the 2010 census. Lindenwold is considered to be part of the Newark–UMD metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Lindenwold were Dutch settlers who arrived in 1624. In 1714, English traders founded the settlement on land that had been given to them by Colonel John Torrington as part of his purchase of the township from the Native Americans. The colonists named their new town after a green wood near Amsterdam which they toured while on their way southward from America in 1624. Dutch and English traders traded with Indians and Africans during the early years of this colonial period, but no permanent settlements were established until 1684 when Philadelphia began to grow rapidly and demand more land for its expanding city limits. Colonel John Torrington granted him 640 acres (2 km²) of what is now Lindenwold Township for his own use and development as a planned community called "Torrington's Purchase". During this time there was also an effort underway by some landowners in Sussex County to get control of much of what is now Newark Valley so that they could benefit from increased trade traffic within Delaware Bay and thence through New York City on Long Island Sound into northern Pennsylvania; however, these efforts failed because most landowners chose instead to develop their properties along Route 22 (now Interstate 95) rather than build roads or other infrastructure necessary for such ambitious projects. In 1837, commissioners appointed by Governor Andrew Johnson recommended that one mile east of present-day Central Avenue be set aside as an open space known as "New Dorp" or Parkland Heights due to its then high reputation as a place where fashionable people went for walks or picnics after attending balls at nearby Princeton University. On July 3, 1838, General James Ketchum recommended that the name be changed back to Lindenwold after Congressman AmosLindenberger (R-8th District) suggested it because "the beautiful valley has been myriads times visited by visitors since I acquired it." However, because there was still opposition among some residents over plans developed for nearby Newarktelevision station WCAU-TV (channel 4), Ketchum later amended his recommendation that "New Dorp" become "WCAU-TV Station". On October 1st OF 1938 Channel 4 became WCAU-TV channel 4 when TVA bought all existing Sinclair Broadcast Group stations including WCAU from American Telephone & Telegraph Company effective November 15th 1978 - making it one of only six TVA owned stations not owned outright by Comcast Corporation which continued minority ownership through Tribune Broadcasting subsidiary WPVI until January 2017 When Tribune Broadcasting divested itself from TVA

Lindenwold is a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 3,822 at the 2010 census. Lindenwold is part of the Newark–Trenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first people to live in what is now Lindenwold were Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals in the area for food. In 1811, Captain James Pemberton explored the lower Delaware River and came across a group of Indians living near what is now Lindenwold. He named the area "Pemberton's Valley" after himself. In 1830, Jethro Gibbs built a cabin on Ridge Road in present-day Lindenwold for his father-in-law John Gibbs. John Gibbs ran an agricultural business with his three sons until he died in 1876. The younger Gibbs children continued to operate their father's farm until 1914 when it passed through family ownership to their great grandson George Waddell Jr., who still operates it today as an agricultural cooperative known as The Gaffords Farmstead Dairy & Fisheries Incorporated (GWFI). In 1884, Franklyn Haddon purchased land at the mouth of Branch Brook Creek from Samuel Morse for $10 per acre ($140 per mile). Haddon renamed his property "Haddon's Valley". A post office called Haddonville was established here in 1886, but failed to gain popularity because of its close proximity to Newark and Trenton. In 1916, Fred Cressy erected a large barn on what is now Route 9 about one mile west of present day Haddonville for use as a dairy farmstead silo; this property remain today as part of IBM's campus located adjacent toRoute 9 just east of I-95 exit 10A northbound.) By 1926, township trustees had decided that Linder Township should be formed from parts of both Guilford Township and Holland Township due to growing population density within Middlesex County during this time period." It wasn't until 1933 that voters approved incorporation into Middlesex County under the name "Lindenwald". At first there were few residents or businesses inLindenwald due largely to its location on Rte 9 which was then only a dirt road; however over time more people moved into town due to its easy access by train or highway (eastern border being NJ Turnpike) Eventually shops and other businesses started popping up while residents became more involved with community affairs such as serving on township committees etcetera
Lindenwold was founded in 1750 as a small settlement on the eastern edge of Monmouth County. It grew rapidly, and by 1820 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1828, Lindenwold became the first township in Monmouth County and remained so for over 100 years. The township was renamed to Lindenwold Township in 1903 after Edwin D. Lindenwald, an early settler and mayor of the town.
