Lindenwold coffee was first roasted in 1912 by Dr. John G. Lindenwold, an early advocate for the production of quality cup of coffee. The Lindenwold Coffee House began serving its first cup of coffee in 1912 and continued to serve up delicious beans until it closed its doors in 1951. In recent years, Lindenwold Coffee has been reborn as a gourmet coffee house and roaster with new beans and flavors being made available on a regular basis.
Lindenwold, New Jersey is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,890 at the 2010 census. Lindenwold is located on the southern border of Union County and is bordered by Easton to the north, Mount Olivet to the east, and South Plainfield to the south. The first European settlers in what is now Lindenwold were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1676. The name "Lindenwald" (later anglicized as "Linden Township") was given to them by Colonel John Thomson of Fort Amsterdam after they discovered a grove of trees near present-day Maple Shade. In 1781, when Morrisania was incorporated as a township within Union County, it included land including part of what is now Lindenwold. The first post office was established in 1814 and remained open until 1853; it was renamed West Eggertown after its first postmaster. In 1847, part of what is now Northumberland Township (now Warren Township) became part of Union County; Lindenwald and parts of Easton and South Plainfield remained separate townships until 1861 when they were merged into one municipality under the name "Lindenwald." On July 1, 1970, all but one township in Union County - Lindenhurst - became an unincorporated community within Hunterdon County; accordingly, Lindenhurst's name changed too. According to the United States Census Bureau, Lindenhurst had a total population of 5,890 as of 2000: 4992 White American citizens (97%) with no Hispanic or Latino residents.; 5019 Black American citizens (3%) with no Hispanic or Latino residents.; 8574 Asian Americans (); 3165 Indian Americans (); 2172 Two or more races (); 624 Native American people (). As of 2010 there are also 171 gay/lesbian/bisexual people living in town who identify themselves that way according to their individual paperwork filed with the National Gay & Lesbian Task Force

Lindenwold is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. It is the namesake of Lindenwald Park, which was established in 1879 as part of the Morristown Township section of Camden. The borough was granted its current name by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 22, 1916. The first European settlers arrived in what is now Lindenwold in 1795 and founded a small village called Harmony Court. In 1800, John Nicholson purchased 1,200 acres (500 ha) of land north of present-day Lindenwald Park from the Native Americans for $2 per acre ($60 per km²). Nicholson's heirs developed the area into a large tract known as "New Harmony." In 1801, Nicholas's son George Nicholson donated 711 acres (311 ha) to form what is now Camden Township. The new township included parts of what are now Lindenwald and White Plains areas. In 1835, John Dickinson built his farm at present-day Red Bank in southeastern Camden Township and named it after his mentor – then also living in nearby White Plains – James Dickinson. In 1876, Morrisons erected their first schoolhouse on North Avenue in present-day White Plains; that year also witnessed the founding of South Manchester Elementary School by Morrisons' grandson Julius Aiken. By 1901, when the township had grown to encompass twenty-one miles (38 km) along both banks of the Susquehanna River valley from Hackensack to Cumberland City and eastward to Plainfield Township (!), all but one male inhabitant between twenty-one years old and ninety years old lived within two miles (3 km) or less of property lines assigned them as part of townships such as South Manchester and Hackensack; though some residents did live more than two miles (3 km) away from their respective municipalities limits due to land grants or other public benefits available only within those boundaries Lindenwold became an incorporated municipality on April 8th 1902 with a population OF 537 residents On October 14th 1907NJ Interlocked Borough Boundaries Act ("An act respecting municipal boundaries") changed borders between municipalities forming Gloucester County NJ (& Middlesex County NJ): Chester - Rahway & Uniontown | West Deptford - East Brunswick | Rahway - Pennington & Asbury Park | Parsippany - Haledon Heights
Lindenwold was founded in 1795 by James Linden. The town was named for him and his wife, Eliza Lindsey. The Lindens were the first white settlers in the area. In 1814, the town became a county seat due to its location on the New Jersey Turnpike. It remained that way until 1955 when it lost its county seat status to Paterson.
