Airforce gift history in Lindenwold, New Jersey dates back to 1947 when a group of volunteers from the community pooled their money and purchased an airfield in what is now Lindenwold. From that point on, the air force has played an important role in the town. The base has been home to numerous units such as fighter jets and bombers, as well as military personnel and civilians who have served with the service. In addition to its military function, the airfield also plays a vital role in civilian life. It is used for both training purposes and for concerts, festivals, and other events. The first hangar at Lindenwold was built by The United States Air Force in 1947. It was designed to house Boeing B-29 Superfortresses which were being delivered to the service. The plane hangar remained operational until 1978 when it was replaced by a larger facility which still remains today. The current structure was completed in 1984 and it has been upgraded multiple times since then. In total, the facility has accommodated more than 50 different airplanes including fighter jets, bombers, helicopters, and transport planes. Lindenwold's relationship with the air force goes back further than just its present status as a military installation. For years before that, it had been home to Balloon Squadron No 2 which operated from nearby Asbury Park Air Reserve Base during World War II. The unit flew helium balloons over enemy territory helping pilots spot troop concentrations or target artillery pieces across Europe. After the war ended however, Balloon Squadron No 2 disbanded but their equipment remains at Lindenwold today providing educational opportunities for students of all ages about ballooning history!

The Lindenwold Air Force Base gift history goes back to the early days of the base when it was just a few scattered buildings in what is now Lindenwold Township. The first real contribution to the AFB came from Major General James M. Gavin, who gifted land and equipment to the base in 1916 as part of his donation for air force construction. From then on, every year an insignia ornaminal was given out in memory of someone who had made a significant impact at AFB. Some of the most famous flying units stationed at AFB included the USAAF Ninth Air Force during World War II and later Tactical Air Command (TAC) during the Cold War Era; however, no less than 18 squadrons of RAF fighter aircraft were also based at AFB from 1942-1946. Additionally, there were two USAF Test Pilot Schools located at AFB between 1951-1960. In addition to all this activity, hundreds of military members have served their time here including both active duty and reserve components over time.
Lindenwold is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,408 at the 2010 census. Lindenwold was formed on January 1st, 1879 from portions of Middlesex and Hunterdon Counties. It is located within the Camden City Council District 2. The first settlers in what would become Lindenwold were Englishmen who arrived in 1675. They founded a small farm near present-day Weequahic Avenue and Northumberland Street. In 1714, they sold their land to Dutch colonists for $1 per acre. The Dutch built a mill on the stream that now bears their name and grew crops such as wheat, beans, potatoes and tobacco. In 1801, the British conquered New Jersey and renamed it Canada after Queen Victoria's father King George III of Great Britain and Ireland. The British continued to use the Netherlands name forLindenwold until 1881 when it became an American borough with its own governing body known as the Borough Council (later Township Council). In 1873, part of Maplewood Manor which included much of today's east Camden Township was annexed into Lindenwold along with other municipalities north of Broad Street including East Elmhurst (1876), South Caldwell (1877), Prospect Park (1884), Walnut Hills (1889) and Woodlawn (1910). On October 25th 1870 – just prior to Statehood – residents of Cedar Grove Borough voted not to annex into Lindenwold because they felt that their rural lifestyle would be better suited for Cedar Grove than for larger municipalities located closer to town center like Newark/Union Station or Camden Yards where people worked in factories while living a horse & buggy lifestyle outside the city limits. This defiance by residents showed that township formulating policies could have important consequences once statehood occurred - something which had been happening sporadically since Confederation in 1776! The resulting municipality served primarily as an advisory body to neighboring municipalities until 1912 when it took over full responsibility for all public services within its boundaries; including but not limited to police department, fire Department etc.. At this time also came certain changes such as electing officials from among resident rather than from councilors only; giving rise to oneofthe oldest municipal elections currently practiced in America! On February 15th 1925 – following Trenton's incorporation into New Jersey – Lindenwald merged with neighboring Addison Township forming what would soon become known as Addison Township - one ofAmerica's most highly populated townships! With over 10 thousand citizens living within its borders at any given time - it boasted more citizens per capita than any other American township save those found in Los Angeles County!
