The Linden Marine Aquarium is one of the oldest and largest aquariums in the New Jersey area. The aquarium was founded in 1923, and has been open to the public since then. It is home to a wide variety of marine creatures, including sea lions, seals, dolphins, and whales.
Linden is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 23,871. Linden was formed from portions of Caldwell and Haddon Heights on July 1, 1874. The name was chosen to honor Sir John A. Lindley (1799-1868), British judge and politician who served as Prime Minister in office from 1855 to 1858 and as Secretary at War from 1865 to 1867. The first settler in what is now Linden Township was Nicholas de la Rue, who arrived with his family in 1664. The township was originally named Washington after George Washington's birthplace in Virginia. It was renamed Caldwell on November 5, 1784 for Major General James Caldwell (1749-1824), one of the original proprietors of this township and future Governor of New Jersey under George Washington during the Revolution. On January 25, 1800, the township was divided into two parts by an order from colonial governor Richard Stockton: part became Hopewell Township; part became Rahway Township which remains today as one of its five municipalities within Bergen County. On July 1, 1874, Caldwell and Haddon Heights were combined into Linden Township when it was created by act of the New Jersey Legislature based on results of a referendum held that day+. On November 10th same year voters approved a resolution granting incorporation to “the Boroughs or Townships aforesaid” with a population of 710 souls* holding their meeting at City Hall on December 12th* (*The townhall has since been destroyed). In 1900–1901 there were only 6 residents living in Linden Borough; however by 1920 there were over 100 people living there.* By 1930 all but 2 members had left with the exception being Cemanuelle Lauzon who continued until her death in 1941.* In 1950–1951 only 3 residents remained and no action took place on incorporation until 1952 when it passed again with 9 votes* (*This number increased rapidly following annexation by Paramus*) On May 14th 1954 Mayor Edwin Pasternak announced plans for annexation into Paramus due to increasing problems caused by overcrowding†(*The merger never happened because Paramus city officials felt that they could handle Linden better themselves*) In 1957 Mayor Harry Jaffe announced plans for annexation into Paramus once again(*Paramus city officials felt that they could handle Linden better themselves*) However this time plans changed when Community Services Commissioner Robert D’Angelo discovered that ¶Linden would be losing many jobs†(*There would be some job loss but also significant economic development*) so he recommended against unification In 1978 mayor Angelo Anello announced plans for annexing back intoLinden because ¶the community had outgrown¶ both its services area and its political boundaries§(*Both townships voted down annexations due to lack support) ) finally on October 15th 1979 Alderman Joseph Giambrone announced Plans For Annexation Into Lyndon After careful consideration after talking with many people§(*There seemed very little difference between what each town wanted*) On April 10th 1990 official annexation papers were filed making Lynden an official borough’s along with its own government including an elected mayor & council * note: This paper does not cover events leading up to or following annexation

What began as a few commemorative cups for friends and family soon grew into what today is known as the Marine Gift History Project. The project was started in 2003 by curator Rick Loomis with the aim of providing educational resources about maritime gifts. With over two million records in the database, the project has amassed an impressive amount of knowledge about marine gifts. One of the most popular types of gifts given to sailors are marine trophies or items related to their trade or hobby. These include medals, buttons, tools, ships models and more. In recent years, however, there has been a growing trend towards marine artisanry items such as paintings, sculptures and jewelry. This shift can be seen in both traditional gift choices and modern-day giving patterns. For example, many people now give engraved cufflinks as an appreciation gift instead of just one cup or medal. Marine vessels have long been symbols of strength and prowess on sea; they are also popular among collectors for their beauty and rarity. Linden, New Jersey is a small town located in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. The population was 5,812 at the 2010 census. Linden was first settled in 1795 and was incorporated as a borough on March 5th of that year. Linden became an independent municipality on February 14th of 1912. On January 1st of 2020, Linden merged with neighboring East Brunswick Township to form the new municipality of Linden-East Brunswick. The history of Linden dates back to early British colonial days when it was part of the Township of Monmouth West. In 1814, the township split off from Monmouth West and became known as Middlesex County and included both parts of present-day Hunterdon County. For many years after that time, elections were held in Middlesex County only and not in Hunterdon County which made for more democratic representation but also led to some duplication of services between the two counties. In 1916, however, the New Jersey General Assembly passed a bill creating Hunterdon County outside of the state boundaries and giving effect to this newly created county seat at Bedminster (now Freehold). As a result of this change in government structure, residents in Middlesex County began electing representatives to the Board Of Education while those living within what is now Hunterdon County elected officials instead. Consequently, by 1920 there were two large municipalities operating within one county - East Brunswick Township (containing all but 4 square miles ofLinden)and MiddlesexCounty (the rest includingLinden). However due to World War II most businesses closed down and people left for war effort or other opportunities overseas; consequently there has been little development within these communities since then other than increasing suburbanization which has resulted in high school enrollment remaining relatively static over time On October 16th 1838 Isaac Sellers set out from Newark on horseback with four others under Captain John Ewing’s command via Egginton Roadstead Bridge across Trenton Bayou for his proposed community called “Egginton” named after him he had seen while touring through Mercer Parish near Bordentown NJ during his previous trip eastward along that bayou looking for land grants That same day they arrived at what is today's village limits just northwest side Streetmont Avenue between 2nd street Wabash Ave & 3rd street Saginaw Ave now part Of Overbrook Borough .
