The United States Air Force has a rich history in Lincoln Park, New Jersey. The first American fighter squadron was organized at the Park in 1939 and the USAF began its operation as an air force training center in 1941. The USAF headquarters were established at the Park in 1946 and it became home to the Twelfth Air Force which was activated on 1 October 1947. On 15 September 1949, President Harry S Truman created Sixth Air Force as part of NATO and it was headquartered at RAF Lakenheath, England. The USAF transitioned from paper airplane flying to jet aircraft operations on 31 December 1959 and First Persian Gulf War occurred on 16 August 1990. In 1995, Third World war erupted with Bosnian Serb forces attacking Sarajevo airport killing more than 100 people and this led to increased activity at Lincoln Park with units stationed throughout North America providing support for both global conflicts. Today, the USAF operates over 50 different types of aircraft including bombers, fighters, helicopters, drones and satellites across five continents. At Lincoln Park there are two large hangar areas where legacy airplanes can be stored while new technology is being developed or tested. Additionally, the Fighter Wing offers flight instruction for children from pre-kindergarten through high school as well as adult classes for those interested in becoming pilots or air traffic controllers. Aircraft display cases highlighting examples of heroism during wartime or events such as Operation Overlord abound throughout the park while metal detectors keep trespassers out of missile batteries that sit atop large hills near downtown (see photo). While much has changed since World War II when aviation first reached America’s shores – most significantly our understanding of how to fight wars using air power – there has never been a more important time period to celebrate USAF history in Lincoln Park!

The United States Air Force gift history in Lincoln Park, New Jersey goes back to the early days of the USAF. The first AFB in Lincoln Park was Keesler AFB which opened in 1947. However, it would be the creation of Tactical Air Command (TAC) at Langley AFB that would bring about much change for the air force in New Jersey. TAC was created on 1 July 1946 and soon became one of America's most powerful commands with a broad responsibilities for all USAF activities worldwide. In 1965, Keesler AFB was closed and its personnel were reassigned to Langley AFB where they would continue their important role until 1997 when they were moved again to Lackland AFB, Texas as part of USAFE. There has been no loss of RAF personnel here at Lincoln Park since then though there have been some changes - Most notably the opening of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in 1999 and its integration into USAF Central Command HQ. In August 2007, it too became an additional Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson/North Pole which gave rise to more merged USAF units here at Lincoln Park than ever before!

The park also features a large playground, a new pool and picnic area, as well as several businesses and restaurants. In addition to its natural beauty, Lincoln Park is also an important cultural center for the region. It has been home to numerous concerts, plays and festivals since it was first developed in the early 1800s.

Lincoln Park was once part of what is now Jersey City. The area that is now Lincoln Park was first settled in the 17th century by Dutch farmers and their families. In 1837, the New York State Legislature designated the area as a state park, and it remained that way until 1919. In 1921, Abraham Lincoln family estate was sold to the city of Jersey City for $1 million. The city used the money to create Lincoln Park, and it remains one of Jersey City's most popular tourist destinations today.
