The Hoboken Air Force Base is home to the New Jersey Air National Guard's 13th Bomb Wing, which was founded in 1941. The wing flew its first mission on December 20 of that year, and has been flying fighter aircraft ever since. In 1951, the wing relocated from Lambert Field in Saint Louis, Missouri to Hoboken AFB. From there, it began operating Boeing 707s and Douglas DC-8s for aerial refueling and combat support missions over Northeast Africa and the Middle East. The wing also operated two Lockheed L-1011 TriStar Airlift Carriers from 1985-1991 as part of a 'flightglobal' cargo transport program between NATO member countries. On July 1st, 1994, the 13th Bomb Wing moved again when it became activated at McGuire AFB in Wilmington Delaware as part of Operation Joint Endeavor II. Overhauling its aging C-119J Flying Boxcar fleet, the wing commenced operations with Republic AERONAVILERS (later EH-2B) brought into service on October 12th of that year. The EH-2Bs were supplemented by Fairchild F3C ‘Wildcat’s’ beginning in 1996; these Vought Saab 340 'Flamboyant' Wildcat trainers served until 2002 when they were replaced by Bell 206 Jetstars due to their low fuel capacity; however they continued operation until 2006 when they were replaced by Bell 407 helicopters #7337 through #73339). In 2003 the 13th Bomb Wing transitioned to Boeing KC-135 Stratotankers after years of use flown with McDonnell Douglas MD11's. These planes are now used for strategic bombardment duties over Iraq and Afghanistan while also providing search and rescue services during natural disasters like Hurricane Sandy or Harvey. While not all KC-135's have been used for air defense duty; many have played an important role during various deployments across America including Operation Neptune Spear which helped secure Kuwait after Saddam Hussein seized power in 1990; Desert Storm which crippled Iraqi oil production; Operation Odyssey Dawn which destroyed ISIS targets inside Syria; Global Strikewhich bombed multiple terror sites around the world resulting in numerous lives saved including those at World Trade Center on September 11th 2001 – this most recent deployment beingOperation Noble Eagle which helps protect US installations overseas beforeChristmas! On March 25th 1945 General George Patton visited Hoboken AFB along with other Allied commanders during his campaign against Nazi Germany – this event is celebrated annually as International Patton Day by both the NJ ANG & USAF respectively. On May 27th 1958 Mayor Fiorello LaGuardia dedicated a new hangar adjacent to Terminal 3 at Hoboken AFB dubbed LaGuardia Airport Parkway in honor of then Municipal President Fiorenzo La Guardia who had led city efforts to improve airport security & infrastructure following 9/11 attacks - this project was completed just months after LaGuardia's death due to a heart attack aged 71 years old!

Hoboken is a city in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 17,644 at the 2010 census. The city is the county seat of Bergen County. It is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hoboken was founded on April 10, 1764 by Nicholas de Montresor and his brother-in-law George Washington as a small settlement on Hackensack River for French Huguenots who had fled persecution in France. On October 15, 1798, Hoboken became an incorporated town under the name of Newark after its incorporation into Essex County and then New Jersey. At its peak in 1813 it had a population of 30,000 people and made up 12 percent of all metropolitan area residents. In 1915 Hoboken annexed what were then three villages – North White Plains Township (now Paterson), East Orange Township (now Parsippany) and South White Plains Township (now West Caldwell). By 1920 Hoboken's population had grown to over 50,000 people making it about 20 percent of all Jersey City residents and 25 percent of all Newark residents; however these percentages have since declined overall due to gentrification within Jersey City while other municipalities have seen significant growth in their populations independent from Hoboken which has led to some conflict between the two cities over development rights In 2000, Hoboken voters passed a referendum authorizing annexation by Paramus Borough with an automatic vote for any municipality over 1 million inhabitants that did not object within six months. This action increased the number of people living inside the limits by 43%. As part of this process Paramus annexed sections adjacent to both Newark and HudsonValley neighborhoods including Englewood Cliffs Park which now forms part ofParamus borough as well as portions bordering Kearny Mesa Boulevard on the East side; parts adjoining Kearny Mesa Boulevard on the Westside including Elizabeth Avenue – now called Park Slope – former Matawan Road; parts bordering Elizabeth Avenue on Staten Island once belonging to Fort Drum prior to Purchase Day 1814 when that military post was abandoned and properties included therein were transferred eastward along what is now Midtown Line Highway to form Staten Island; finally parts bordering Midtown Line Highway on Lackawanna Ave., also formerly part of Fort Drum are now considered Downtown Hoboken. The first section annexed by Paramus was located immediately west-northwest of present day Union Street /Route 9A between Walker Avenue/Route 9B /Parsippany Boulevard/Hackensack River before becoming North White Plains Township while those annexing eastward from Midtown Line Highway between Elizabeth Avenue - current Park Slope - former Matawan Road - former Fort Drum prior to Purchase Day 1814 became South White Plains Township with Walker Avenue becoming Englewood Cliffs Park boundaries Formerly zoned as rural Tilden Twp./Rural Wayne Nysa until 1984 when Village Redevelopment Authority assumed power & redesignated it as urban Tilden Twp./Rural Wayne Nysa effective January 1st 1984 having replaced zoning districts accordingly As per NJS §2C: “There must be evidence that either through happenstance or design or because there exists an overriding public policy interest underlying such actions…the exercise by any person or entity thereof will result in substantial economic benefits” therefore “The Mayor shall cause appropriate studies concerning potential uses for eminent domain powers set forth herein” In additionNJS §2C sets out five criteria that must be met before eminent domain can be exercised: There must be a request from someone claiming title or interest therein That an immediate emergency exist That there is no other means available To achieveuate said emergency You have exhausted all other methods proposed by individuals or organizations opposing your taking possession without compensation You cannot use eminent domain for any purpose other than creating conditions necessary for businesses operations
