The town was founded in 1820 by George Washington and his family as a small farming community on the banks of the Delaware River. By 1837, Hammonton had become a major port for shipping goods from Philadelphia to New York City. The town's population grew rapidly and by 1860 it had reached over 2,000 people. Hammonton's growth led to its development into an important center for business and industry. This growth also brought about new challenges, such as the lack of infrastructure to support heavy traffic. In order to meet these challenges,Hammonton began developing its own transportation system-the first municipally run bus system in America. This system helped make Hammonton one of the most vibrant communities in central Pennsylvania during the 19th century. As businesses boomed in Hammonton, residents became increasingly involved in local politics. In 1896, Mayor John Witherspoon appointed cartoonist Charles Schulz as mayor pro tem -an event that has been cited as one of the earliest examples of political satire in America. From this point on, Hamletonians were regularly sending their representatives to government meetings and elections across central Pennsylvania. During World War II, Hammonton played an important role in the Allied effort against Nazi Germany. With access to facilities such as naval yards and shipyards located nearby,Hamiltonians contributed greatly to Allied munitions production throughout 1940-1945. Hammonton is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 20,711 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Newark–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hammonton was founded by English colonists in 1764 as a small settlement on the East Branch of the Paterson River. The first permanent settler in Hammonton was Captain John Hammond from Plympton, Devon, England who arrived in 1765 and built his home on what is now called Hammond's Hill. Hammond's house still stands and is used as a museum today. The first store opened in 1768 and the first millvisioned on November 3rd of that year by Nicholas Biddle & Sons. In 1814 an act were passed giving township status to hamlets located within 10 miles of Philadelphia. In 1825 Morris stereolithography began operations at a local factory being run by Andrew Dickson which soon became world-renowned for its product Hamlet Stereotype prints which became one of America's most popular tourist attractions during the 19th century In 1875 Haddonfield Manufacturing Company came into operation with their first product being vulcanized rubber which quickly gained popularity In 1896 Eastern Railroad completed their line from Camden to Morristown and through Hammonton creating an important commercial corridor Hammonton experienced rapid growth during World War II with businesses such as Girdwood Rubber Company expanding rapidly During the early 1960s there was significant redevelopment with new housing developments appearing along Clinton Avenue Today Hammonton continues to grow with continued industrial activity along Clinton Avenue providing much needed employment

At this point, coffee had become an important commodity throughout most of Europe and North America. By 1830, over fifty different countries were producing coffee beans. Coffee became so popular that it was made into a legal currency throughout much of the world by 1837. In 1886, two Americans named John D’Arcy and Samuel Morse invented the telegraph system which allowed information to be transmitted without having to be verbalized

Hammonton, New Jersey is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Trenton Metropolitan Statistical Area. Hammonton was founded as a small community on the present-day border of Middlesex and Union counties by Englishmen who emigrated to America during the Revolutionary War. In 1876, Hammonton became one of the towns chosen for inclusion in the newly created municipality of Newark, which included both Middlesex and Union counties. In 1892, Hammonton lost its borough status but regained it as an incorporated village in 1923. The current name of Hammonton was given to it by George Wickersham, 3rd Viscount Stanhope (1821-1912), who had purchased land in what is now downtown Hammonton from John Davenport (1759-1825). Wickersham believed that "Hamon" derived from "hame" or "house", meaning field or estate in Old English. The first settlers to arrive in what is nowHammonton were farmers and their families who arrived between 1795 and 1800 through internal migration within England based on family ties rather than opportunity; these pioneers were followed by others over time as farming techniques improved and markets opened up for American produce abroad. By 1830 there were about 120 people living here including 20 farmers and their families; by 1840 this number had decreased to 30 with 6 buildings including a gristmill. The first school opened up in 1836 on land donated by Captain Elijah Holmes; until then children walked or rode horses to learn about rudimentary arithmetic and reading from parents or older siblings back at home. During the American Revolution many men volunteered their services here as militiamen; some Poles also served as soldiers here before returning home after hostilities ended in 1783; among these veterans was Nathan Baily (1756-1824), an immigrant from London who had married one of America's earliest patriots – Deborah Parsons – when she migrated under British rule to North America with her husband Amos Parsons (1693-1764). After serving three years apprenticeship with a tailor in London he set out for Philadelphia where he found work as a journeyman tailor before eventually joining forces with Nathanael Greene’s Continental Army unit during the Battle of Saratoga where he received his first real battlefield experience Baily later returned eastward via Albany, New York where he met his second wife Elizabeth Banister whom he married Sept 14th 1785 at Stony Brook Presbyterian Church after previously marrying Deborah Parsons . They lived near Bordentown NJ until they moved westwards along I-95 into Bucks County , PA due to financial difficulties caused by disease pandemic & war . There they raised two daughters named Susannah & Sarah Ann while working odd jobs & playing music all around town helping support their father moving further away from family assistance . In 1853 Baily finally achieved enough money thru honest labor sales & investments to move back east himself becoming president/manager tannery “The Friendly Glove Factory” starting offhand 10 employees but soon growing 500 employee Tannery Park located southeast corner lot 2nd floor rear Street side RR tracks Waterloo Station Camden next door today still producing gloves
