The United States Coast Guard was established on 3 August 1790 with the creation of the First Continental Navy. The Coast Guard was later renamed in honor of George Washington, and became a federal agency on 15 September 1915. The Coast Guard has jurisdiction over over all U.S. waters, including coastal areas of New Jersey and Delaware as well as parts of New York and Pennsylvania. The first Coast Guard station in Haddonfield was built at what is now known as Camp Gordon in 1823. At that time, it consisted of a small fort and a couple of huts for the troops guarding the entrance to Long Island Sound. In 1825, Congress authorized the construction of a larger station at Haddonfield Point, which would become the nucleus for what would become today's Coast Guard Station at Haddonfield Point. During World War II, Headquarters Command (HQCOM) operated from Essen Headquarters from 1942 to 1945 because Naval Air Base Manhattan (NORAD-Newark), then located atouk Bayou near Houston Heights in Newark County could not be used due to wartime bombings damage done by Japanese forces during their attack on Pearl Harbor on 7 December 1941. HQCOM moved ashore from Greenpoint Pier into Morristown Beach Park across from City Hall park on 8 January 1943 after being based out of Roosevelt Field (now part of Morris Township). HQCOM Commander was Rear Admiral John W Forster who served until his retirement on 1 September 1945; he had been named Commandant following Admiral Harry S Truman's order dated 24 October 1944 replacing Vice Admiral James W Richardson Jr.; Richardson assumed command pending replacement by Rear Admiral John F Buckley who sailed in USS "Alabama" (BB-33) commanding Task Force 55 which conducted Operation Crossroads assault against Hiroshima without loss off Nagasaki when she arrived there 19 March 1945; Buckley relieved Forster upon her arrival and took command staff aboard "Alabama". Buckley remained Commander until 9 May 1946 when he left to assume duty as Commander Destroyer Squadron 4--Atlantic Fleet Area headquartered at Norfolk Naval Shipyard where he served until his death 21 July 1949 having commanded that squadron since its inception 2 November 1944 when it joined Destroyer Squadron 11-- Atlantic Fleet Area activated under Lieutenant Commander Edward J King effective 30 June 1945; King relieved Buckley upon his death 14 August 1948 having command staff aboard USS "Endicott" (DD-711) which had departed Hampton Roads 25 July 1944 for Okinawa after antisubmarine warfare operations off Japan commenced 10 August 1944 As were all other squadrons subordinate thereto during World War II; submarines operated out PEARL Harbor area except GASBATTEN Patrol Force consisting thereof:USS TENNESSEE(AGI-17),USS Gulfstream I(LCS-2),USS LEXINGTON(CG-5),USS SAN DIEGO(CAVF-1)),USS AGAMEMnonIUS(AGIs-3); LCSs operating out NAS NORFOLK Ville n/a]]. Roosevelt signed into law H.R. 2271 which authorized an additional $5 million for shore patrol operations along America's coasts and waterside communities. This money went towards purchasing new ship models and equipment as well as increasing funding for lifesavers patrols around America's coastal areas In 1969, Congress passed legislation authorizing designation of a National Shore Patrol Command to provide unified leadership and direction for all USCG resources devoted toshore patrol activities On July 1st 1980, USCG Headquarters located at White Sands Naval Air Station in Kings Point, Brooklyn changed its name to Intelligence Support Activity (ISA) - Headquarters for Homeland Security Investigations On October 18th 1996 ISA - Headquarters for Homeland Security Investigations transitioned from a military organization to civilian control under then Director General James Q. Comey This change marked a milestone in both our mission and our history because now we are one agency focused on homeland security across all levels including law enforcement; national defense; civil aviation; environmental protection; financial services; trade stops As part of this transition we transferred excess aging assets from DOD custody within ISA - Headquarters for Homeland Security Investigations back into DOD responsibility where they will be used more effectively by their original owners . We also took steps to modernize our organizational structure which included moving management functions within HQISA away from Washington D., D.C., sacrificing some degree of autonomy but ultimately resulting in increased effectiveness due to better communication between departments

The town of Haddonfield was once a thriving community located in the heart of New Jersey. The population of the town reached over 10,000 by 1828, and it continued to grow until the early 1800s. However, during the late 1800s and into the 1900s, Haddonfield experienced significant decline. The reason for this is largely due to changes in demographics that took place between 1828 and 1861. At that time, Haddonfield lost its status as an important center for trade and commerce because its neighborhoods began to disappear as families moved away from the area. Additionally, technological advances began to negatively affect Haddonfield during this time. For example, railroadroads made it much easier for people to move around and buy goods without having to go through more than one location. This led to a decrease in business opportunities for residents of Haddonfield, which ultimately contributed to its decline.
Haddonfield is a town located in North Jersey on the border of Monmouth and Middlesex counties. The population was 9,291 at the 2010 census. It is the largest town in both counties. Haddonfield was first settled by Europeans in 1676 as part of the Dutch colony of New Netherland and became a part of English America in 1764 when British forces invaded New Netherland. The first post office was established in Haddonfield on November 12, 1817, and named for Colonel George Washington Haddock (1753-1820), an American general who fought during the French and Indian War. In 1821, settlers from Monmouth County founded what is now Paramus because they were concerned about possible land grants by James Kempton, 1st Baron Kempton (1768-1843). Kempton had been appointed Collector of Customs at Newark Liberty before he served as U.S. Minister to Spain from 1826-29 under President Andrew Jackson. He also acquired large parcels of land west of Philadelphia that he hoped to sell off for cash or use as a grazing ground for his own livestock. In 1840, Congress passed an act providing federal financing for local roads and projects including improving transportation between Philadelphia and points northward along the Delaware River shoreline through what is now Camden County; this Act became known as the Morrill Act after General James Biddle, Jr., Secretary of War under President Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865). The following year saw another milestone in Haddonfield's history when John Pemberton opened the first store here – one which would continue to be a staple source of goods and services throughout much of colonial America until well into late 19th century territory controlled by European nations such as Germany and Austria-Hungary. On May 14, 1850, Presbyterian minister Rev. John Witherspoon gave opening sermon at First Presbyterian Church located on Main Street across from today's Park Avenue shopping mall; this event marks perhaps one of earliest denominational events within what would become known as Township Hall–the governing body with responsibility for all aspectsof township life including education, public works, elections & more over ensuing years up until consolidation with Monmouth County in 1960/61 officially becoming Borough Council effective that same year -making it effectively an "administrative center" rather than just "township hall."
