There are many coffee stories in Hackensack, New Jersey. One of the earliest and most well-known coffee businesses was The Coffee House, started by George Dunn in 1847. The Coffee House became a popular spot for local business people to meet and chat, as well as a place where they could purchase their morning caffeine fix. In 1865, John Fenton opened up his own coffee house on Market Street in what is now the nearby Hackensack Mall. Over time, other businesses popped up all around town: The Dutchman's Cafe from 1868 to 1870; the Publican's Saloon from 1874 to 1880; the Gilded Cage from 1886 to 1888; and finally The Hooters (now known as Dunkin' Donuts) from 1951 until 1957. The first commercial production of espresso was made at Elisabeth's Coffee House on Main Street in 1912. By 1915, there were over twenty different coffee shops operating throughout Hackensack Township: ten owned by individuals and ten run by organizations such as churches or unions. In 1955, one of NJ’s largest employers, MetLife Insurance Company decided that it would no longer provide its employees with morning java during work hours – instead they would get their caffeine fix at home through their own cafeterias. This led to an industry-wide shift towards small batch espresso products like drip coffees and cappuccinos. Hackensack coffee history begins with the first coffee purchase in the town on Decatur Avenue in 1915. The first cup of Hackensack coffee was made by Harry Hargrave, a grocery store owner who purchased two sacks of coffee from a Dutchman named Wagener.

Hackensack is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 9,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the New York City metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Hackensack were Dutch traders and missionaries in 1624. The original name of the town was "New Netherland." It changed hands several times before being granted to Colonel John Hackenarick on November 3, 1739. In 1814, it became part of Bergen Township when that township was created from parts of Monmouth and Middlesex counties. In 1834, the Borough of Hackensack annexed the village of Rahway which had been adjacent to Lockport since 1801. That year also saw the installation of a rapid transit line from Newark to Hackensack via Rahway and Caldwell Heights with service ending at Bound Brook station in 1836. On May 10, 1859, a force under Brigadier General Ambrose Burnside attacked and burned down Fort Lee during an American invasion of New Jersey; Hackensack was one of many towns surrendered without fighting. During World War II,Hackensack played a significant role as an air raid shelter for Newark Airport after German bombers bombed that city on September 8th 1942 killing more than seventy people and injuring hundreds more. After1945 most manufacturing stopped withinHackensack but some businesses continued until about 1990 when computers started taking over much of what used to be done in this industry so there are few remnants left today other than old machines that can sometimes be found abandoned or rented out as storage units

A man by the name of Benedict Arnold brought back some Japanese roasted coffee beans from Japan in 1796 as part of a trade mission. These beans spread throughout North America and Europe before reaching England where they were used to make early morningtea. Coffee became popularized when people began traveling and trading during the 1800s. American traders traveled through Asia looking for spices and other items to sell back home; while on their trips, they brought back plants and seeds along with their latest discoveries about agriculture, gardening, brewing methods, etcetera which then got planted into monasteries all over Asia Minor (now Turkey). One such monastic plant nursery was founded by an monk named Hormuzi ibn Ali al-Khatibi in 990 AD which was one of the earliest nurseries of its kind in history! In order to find new sources of flavor and variety for his monks’ morning tea beverages, Ibn Ali oversaw various experiments with different types of fruits, nuts/seeds etcetera until he developed what we now know as Turkish Coffee! In 1898 German brewer August Biermann set out on a cross-country journey across America trying to replicate Italian espresso machines available at local cafes—he succeeded! This event marked the beginning of mass production of espresso machines all over America which helped drive down prices on quality Arabica Beans while also creating more jobs within cafés than ever before! With this increased demand came increased output; however this also created high levels of pollution due to manufacturing processes taking place in large factories located near urban areas which caused health concerns among consumers and workers alike

Hackensack, New Jersey was once a mining and manufacturing town located on the Hackensack River. It became a center of banking and finance in the late 1800s, thanks to its location on the Susquehanna River. The population of Hackensack grew rapidly during this time, reaching more than 100,000 by 1910. However, the town's prosperity came to an end after World War II when demand for goods generated by wartime production decreased sharply. In recent years, Hackensack has regained some of its former prominence as a commercial and cultural center.

On October 29, 1857, Hackensack was chartered as a town by the New Jersey Legislature. It was named for General Israel Putnam and his wife, Martha Hackensack. The Putnams were among the early settlers in the area and their home is still extant in the town.
