The Coast Guard's first ship, the USS Constitution, was donated by President George Washington in 1913. In 1916, the Coast Guard purchased its first motorboat, the SS Orion. In 1917, the Coast Guard bought its first airboat, the PT-1A. The following year saw the purchase of its first helicopter and continued growth with purchases of other vessels and helicopters throughout World War II. In 1969, Congress passed legislation creating the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). As part of this new organization, NOAA merged with several other agencies including the Coast Guard to form NOAA Corps. Since then, gifts from members of Congress have been a common feature of NOAA's gift history. In 2013 alone, members of Congress gifted over $100 million in goods and services to NOAA Corps members across America. The Coast Guard gift history in Glen Rock, New Jersey starts with the creation of the Glen Rock Patrol Boat on December 1, 1915. The patrol boat was donated by Captain Wm. H. Fenton and served as the first law enforcement vessel on the Delaware River. In 1916, a new patrol boat was donated by Mr. J.H. Earp and served until 1952 when it was replaced by the present day Glen Rock Harbor Patrol Boat which is still in use today.
Glen Rock is a town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 10,844 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Hackensack–Jersey City Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlers in what is now Glen Rock were led by Captain John Smith in 1764 when he and his party captured a French fort from the French near present-day Hackensack. The fort sat on the banks of the Passaic River for years and was used as a storage depot for goods brought overland from Philadelphia and other points east. In 1786, British Major General James Abercrombie erected Fort George on an extensive tract of land south of Fort Lee on the Passaic River opposite McLean Township. A small detachment of soldiers garrisoned Fort George until 1800, when it was abandoned because of its distance from sources of food and water supply. In 1814, under orders from President James K. Polk, General Andrew Jackson occupied New York City after its fall in the American Civil War; this action caused much suffering to civilians who were left homeless and unprotected by Union forces during wartime occupation. On October 3, 1814 – also known as " Gujarat Day" – Ulysses S. Grant issued an order providing for martial law to be exercised throughoutNew Jersey while military forces were being assembled there to suppress any slave uprisings that might occur within that state On November 13th 1830 Drury College (now Douglass Community College) opened its doors with six freshmen enrolling: John Cohan (1785-1862), De Witt Clinton (1787-1868), James Fenimore Cooper (1789-1851), Augustus Woodward Livingston (1803-1872), and Elijah Parish Lovejoy (1800-1865). Classes began at 9am sharp each weekday morning with three hours break for lunch; lectures continued until 4pm followed by free time for classes which lasted until 7pm daily except Sundays which closed at 5pm . On December 1st 1830 Enoch Pratt founded The Presbyterian Church in America with Reverend Samuel Morse as its first pastor After partnering with Rutgers University to establish Princeton Review magazine as an extension service to Douglass Monthly college students had access to many important magazines not available through normal channels such as Gannett & Co., but their editions were often censored or only mildly critical of official government policies In 1849 local farmers formed a group called The Farmers' Alliance to advocate for better prices for agricultural products based on market value rather than production quotas set by state legislatures.; they met weekly meeting place at home most Saturdays beginning February 6th before traveling out into surrounding country visiting different markets where they analyzed prices and gathered information necessary to make recommendations back home which resulted in watered down legislation favored by Govts including Johnson & Clay which eventually became known as 'the Kansas Bill'. This legislation allowed large acreage purchases without consulting landowners although it did provide some protection against future price hikes while still allowing large farms statewide control over their production quota without having it shared equally among all farmers thus discriminating against smaller growers . Meetings would continue every Saturday evening even after return trips so members could network and share ideas; however due legislative changes resulting from political lobbying by wealthy landowners original meetings locations changed several times finally settling at Mr Fenton's house on Washington Street between Broadwalk AND Pearl Streets where member attendance was limited primarily because Mrs Fenton refused To allow her home to become another meeting spot like her sisters did back East During these meetings discussions about forming a statewide organization would take place amongst members who felt targeted groups such as abolitionists or women should not haveto forfeit their right to vote just because they lived near one powerful individual

The Coast Guard has an active duty force of more than 12,000 officers and enlisted men who are responsible for guarding navigation rights and protecting coastline andmaritime property in the United States and its territories. Glen Rock is a small town in New Jersey, United States. It was once part of the Township of Brick and is now a census-designated place (CDP). The population was 5,598 at the 2010 census. The first recorded mention of Glen Rock came in 1275 when it was called "Rochester" due to its location on the Rochester River. The name changed several times before settling into what it currently knows as Glen Rock. It has been home to some of the most prominent individuals in New Jersey history, including two U.S. presidents – James K. Polk and Franklin D. Roosevelt – and numerous other notable figureheads throughout its long and diverse history. In 1814, Sligo County was formed from portions of Mercer County following an act of the New Jersey General Assembly which merged several townships into one entity under the name of “New Brick Township” for business purposes only; however, not all residents within this new municipality voted to join with Sligo County until 1824 because they were still living in their homes from when they lived within Brick Township proper (the township had been disbanded by then). This situation continued until 1828 when all residents within Brick Township voting therein decided to become part of Sligo County as well due to political instability caused by differences between local officials over issues such as taxation rates and boundaries between villages/townships within the county (specifically, those near where Roberts Ferry now stands). Glen Rock's earliest known resident may be John Fenton who settled there around 1790s after moving from Newark NJ during Revolutionary War era. A circa 1830 map shows that settlers at this time included many Irish immigrants who had come across the ocean just prior to American independence through British Naval vessels chartered by George Washington during his tenure as President because he felt that these refugees would provide valuable manpower for America’s war effort against Great Britain which he saw as an infringement on American sovereignty (See also: Ireland immigration during Revolution Era ). It wasn't until 1800 that Dutch built ferry crossing located upstream renamed "Roberts Ferry" after Colonel Robert Morris who donated land for its construction and later became Ulysses S Grant's Secretary of War upon his inauguration in 1865 ; this crossing facilitated commerce along both sides of the Hackensack River valley making it one early point for goods being transported downstream bound for points further upriver such as Perth Amboy NJ or even Philadelphia PA . In 1863 Congress passed House Resolution 317 which stated "that every person found guilty thereof shall be fined not more than $5 nor less than $1 per day." This resolution effectively banned slavery among Native Americans living east side of river since owners could then have taken their slaves away with them wherever they went while free blacks were kept behind bars or sold into slavery if they refused to work on farms owned by white people . After passage of this resolution Glenrock's first black inhabitant may have been Solomon Marshall who worked at local tannery starting around 1840s but did not own land himself so Likely moved there permanently sometime thereafter although no record exists confirming this claim
Glen Rock was founded in 1781 by Captain John Pemberton. The community was named for the rock on which it was located. It became a town in 1835 and a city in 1923. In 1959, it merged with adjoining Borough of Old Bridge to form the City of Glen Rock.
