It was during this time thatFairview began its long tradition of firearm manufacturing - starting with Dennison Firearms Company (later renamed Smith & Wesson) making revolvers for Charles Wetherbee before moving on to creating famous pistols like the Colt Python .45ACP! Fairview is a city in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 32,711 at the 2010 census. It is included in the New York City metropolitan area. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Fairview were Dutch traders who established a trading post there in 1624. The name "Faire View" was given to it by Captain John Smith of English forces during his 1702 Expedition up the Delaware River as part of the Indian Wars campaign. The township of Fairview was formed from portions of West Township on November 15, 1849. The community attained municipal status on February 2, 1898 when it became one of 10 municipalities consolidated into the new borough of Newark. On May 14, 2002, Newark merged with neighboring Paramus and Hackensack to form the seventh largest municipality in New Jersey by population and second most populous within Metropolitan New York City proper (after Queens). Newark residents voted overwhelmingly (68% to 22%) to secede from Camden County and become their own municipality on July 1, 2004. Fairview was a small town in Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. It was located on the east bank of the Hackensack River between Newark and Paterson. The population was 7,871 at the 2010 census. The first permanent settler in Fairview Township were two brothers, Samuel and Jonathan Fairview, who arrived in 1784. They built their house on what is now Park Avenue. The name of their house may be derived from a family name that had once lived there: Farleigh. In 1814, John Higginson established himself as a farmer there with his wife Sarah Greekon; they raised chickens and cows for milk and cheese production until 1821 when Higginson sold his farm to Abraham D'Angelo for $5 per acre (1/4 mile). In 1824-25, Nicholas Voorhees came to Fairview from Morristown with his family; he erected a mill on the Hackensack River about one mile downstream from where today's Main Street meets it. He also conducted market gardening operations near his home until 1830 when he moved to Northumberland Township (now Union County). A post office called "Farrell" was established at Fairview in 1827; it continued operation until 1840. During this time period, many peopleesteaders acquired parcels of land here including James Winton (1830-1912) who purchased 1/3 of an acre site here in 1839. In 1830-31, Isaac Morse opened a gristmill opposite Voorhees' mill which provided some local flour for the city of Newark through its connection with New York City's grain elevators; however, by 1850 Morse's mill had closed due to competition from other mills in nearby Paterson and Newark. After its closure, Morse's mill ground cornmeal which was used to make candy bars until 1902 when dairy products replaced candy as mainstay items at FairVIEW grocery stores statewide! With Industry changes developing rapidly throughout much of America during this era – such as an increased demand for cotton yarn made Export grade – Morse' death signified an end to such early manufacturing endeavors within the township! Doris Skinner settled her husband George’s half-acre lot across from Voorhees’ property in 1837 after moving with her four children from Scotch Plains Junction public school district westward along Route 22 northward into Middlesex County following Amos Smedley’s grant lands program citizenship movement guidelines issued December 16th 1863 via letter dispatched by Brigadier General Robert Ewing commanding Third Brigade “North Jersey Regiment” NY State Militia District II stronghold Trenton NJ surrendering all forces against American occupation November 13th 1863 - thereby becoming citizen #32801 - thus making her Loyalist War Veteran! Doris & George Skinner began raising chickens & pigs for eggs on lot next door beginning about 1840 thru 1860 primarily but also kept dogs & cats during these years prior to state law requiring open space around houses not enclosed within 6 ft high chain link fence originally installedcirca 1870 doris unable to lift heavy objects anymore so animal pens became necessary
