The first coffeehouses in Fairview, NJ were opened by a group of men in 1810. The first coffee house was called the Tavern on the Green and it was located in what is now known as Park Row. The second coffee house to open in Fairview was the Coffee House on the Ridge which was located near present day Old Bridge. In 1814, another group of men opened up a coffeehouse called the Tea Room at 222 Cross Street. This business operated until 1825 when it closed due to prohibition. In 1826, John Collins opened up his own coffee shop at 827 Elizabeth Avenue in Fairview which became known as Collins Coffee House. This business operated until 1892 when it closed due to fire. In 1889, Nicholas D’Angelo purchasedCollins Coffee House and reopened it as a roastery/coffee shop known as D’Angelo’s Café & Roastery. This business operated until 1912 when it closed due to World War I. From 1912-1916, Mr. Guglielmo De Angelo ran this business from his home at 2nd Floor of Consolidated Edison Company Building #2 in Fairview with his son Nicholas Jr., who later became manager and president of De Angelo Coffee Company Ltd.. It is during this time thatDe Angelo began manufacturing its own espresso machines which he named after himself (such as De Angelo's Model C) In 1916, Mr Guglielmo De Angelo sold his company to Harry Schneider who continued running it under the name Harry Schneider's Coffee Shop Inc.. From 1922-1924 Mr Schneider served as President of Harry Schneider's America Corp.. After being president for two years he resigned because he felt that he had not been given enough credit for all that he had accomplished with Schultz's Cafeteria Corporation during those years In 1924, Mrs Florence Kasparek purchasedHarry Schneider's America Corp and renamed it Florence Kasparek's Cafe & Donut Shop Inc.. operations continued here until her death in 1978
Fairview is a town in Hunterdon County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 6,906 at the 2010 census. As of the 2015 American Community Survey, Fairview had a population of 7,827. The name "Fairview" may come from either "Faire View," meaning open field or fairgrounds; or from the Irish word "Fearta," meaning estate. The first Europeans to arrive in what is now Hunterdon County were French Catholics who explored and surveyed what is now Hunterdon Township in 1696-97. They named their discovery "Faire View." It wasn't until 1718 that Englishman Jameson founded the borough of Westville on land he purchased from the French near present-day Allentown. He named it after himself – FairVIEW (from Fearta). In 1814 an act was passed by the General Assembly of New Jersey providing for religious toleration within limits prescribed by law: all denominations of Protestants could worship respectively at public houses throughout this province without being molested or compelled to leave their places of worship; Provided also that no person should be discriminated against on account of his religious opinions. This act led to the founding of First Presbyterian Church in Fairview (now Old Bridge Township), where Reverend John Mitchell officiated as its first pastor in 1816. Another early church located in Fairview was Bethel Swedish Lutheran Church which was built in 1848 by immigrants from Sweden who came through Morrisania and Swedesboro area on their way to America. In 1907 First Baptist Church merged with First Presbyterian Church forming today's fairview community congregation with over 3,000 members strong and 2 churches totaling 411 sq ft combined! Back then membership numbers ranged from 100-300 individuals! In 1820 William Haddonfield built a small gristmill on Creek Road which became known as Haddonfield Mill & Grist House and still stands to this day as one of many mills operated by Mr. Haddonfield along creek road including six others - two brick ones - located along both sides of creek road between Allentown and Eastontowne Villages east thereof about three miles southward from Faire View village proper; these mills were all closed during prohibition although one flour mill still stands extant today [see photo]. This early espresso machine-based coffee production allowed for a much more finely tuned flavor profile than later roast methods used at grocery stores and cafés. The first Starbucks debuted in Seattle in 1994. The Artisan Coffee Association was founded in 1955 to promote and protect the quality of artisanal coffees throughout America. In 1990, Starbucks began importing whole beans from some of the most respectedartisanal roasters around the world (including Ethiopian, Guatemalan and Colombian).
Fairview is a borough in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 census, the borough had a population of 22,951. The name Fairview was first given to the community by John S. Fairbanks after he purchased land in 1875. The community was established on a site where two churches used to stand and a schoolhouse still stands today. The first post office in Fairview was established on October 15, 1878, and it served as the town's only county seat until 1895. In that year, Monmouth County was created and Fairview became part of it. From 1895 until 1916, Fairview was also the capital of Monmouth County before moving to Ocean Township in 1917. In 1916, Monmouth County merged with Atlantic City into one municipality andFairVIEW became part of that municipality once again. The borough continued to exist as an independent municipality until 1992 when it joined Monmouth County proper for all practical purposes
Fairview was founded in 1763 by Captain John Fairview of the British forces during the Seven Years' War. The town was originally named after Colonel James Fairfield, who had bought it from the Dutch in 1675. In 1847, Fairview became a borough and remains so to this day.
