The Elizabeth, New Jersey Air National Guard is one of the United States' military branches and its lead agency in the defense of the state. The unit was activated on December 16, 1941 as the 2d Bombardment Wing (2 BW) of the New York Army National Guard. The wing's mission was to fly strategic bombers for bombing raids against enemy targets in North America. On May 6, 1945, when Japan signed surrender terms, 2 BW became part of 7th Bombardment Wing at Orlando Army Airfield in Florida and became operational as a B-29 Superfortress bomber wing. The wing flew missions over Japan during World War II and played an important role in ending World War II. Inactivated on September 3, 1952 with redeployments to Continental US Wings organization; reactivated on October 1st at Langley AFB Hampton VA under 11th Bombardment Wing command structure as a B-47 Stratojet Bomber Wing stationed there until being deployed to Okinawa In 1959 when it was redesignated 13th Bombardment Wing AAF after being moved from Wright-Patterson AFB Ohio where it had been a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress squadron]]. It served as Headquarters Squadron/Air Defense Command until becoming an independent Air Force Base Unit March 15 1962 when activation ceremonies were held here at Offutt AFB Neb.]]. Withdrawn from active duty service Dec 30 1966]]]. Reactivated Jan 10 1967 with airlift assignment to Mobile Bay Area RAF]; relinquished this assignment Aug 1 1967 and assigned permanently to Ellington Field TX [the original home of Texas Tech University], later also installation site for USAF Reserve Command]]]]. After decommissioning from active duty Nov 15 1997]], it reverted back to the name "Elizabeth Air National Guard" effective Feb 14 1998.]])

In 1862 she became one of the delegates to the National Democratic Convention where she unsuccessfully nominated Abraham Lincoln for President. After her husband's death in 1865,Elizabeth served as Vice President of the United States until being elected as U.S. Senator from New Jersey in 1881. She served two terms before retiring at the age of 83 years old in 1893. As a senator,Elizabeth played an important role in developing America's progressive agenda and helped solidify American economic stability through her work on behalf of manufacturing companies and small businesses throughout her career; she also made significant contributions to education reform and women's rights issues. In 1992 Elizabeth was posthumously awarded the Presidential Medal OF Freedom by President George H.W Bush

However, soon enough they realized that this location would be ideal for trading with other parts of North America due to its strategic location midway between Boston and Philadelphia. In addition, because it was within easy reach of both those cities' markets (thanks to being located on the Susquehanna River),Elizabeth quickly developed into one of North America's leading trade destinations. By 1700 Elizabeth had become one of the largest cities in North America with over 120 merchants operating out of its several stores and warehouses alone! The success that Elizabeth experienced during its early years wasn't just due to its location; it was also due to its entrepreneurs who were able to bring new ideas and techniques back from England which helped improve business practices and makeElizabeth one of the most successful cities onthe East Coast at that time! Eventually however, economic conditions changed throughout much OFNorth America during the 18th century which led to declining populations throughout many areas including Elizabeth; however, this didn't mean that trade stopped or business slowed down completely! Instead instead businesses started focusing more on agriculture which resulted in an overall decrease in GDP levels across all categories combined! This ultimately caused Massena Bridge Company-a prominent early American ferry company-to go bankrupt after only 10 yearsdue mainly becauseOf competition from Catharine de Peyster's newly formed Delaware Ferry Companywhich achieved similar results when ferrying goods between Newark Liberty International Airportand Atlantic City! However despite these setbacks, through hard work and perseverance some things did continue To thrive such as government services like education (thanks largely to Reverend James Clinton who ran an academy funded by his wife)and housing developments like John Street Gardens which showcased creativity among 1830s legislaturesmen From both New York CityAnd Pennsylvania!! Despite these challenges though things generally went bad For awhile until something finally happened That brought about renewed hope And investment InEstate values & entrepreneurshipamong locals which gradually began To trickle down TO THE CITY IN ITS OWN RIGHT!!1
