By 1830, Nicholas-Jacques had decided to focus on espresso instead of just coffee. He started making espresso machines and selling them to other businesses in the area. In 1831, his son Nicolas-Jacques Jr. took over the business and continued expanding it into other areas of the country. By 1890, Nicholas-Jacques Jr.'s son Emmanuel had taken over the company and it continued until 1954 when it merged with Jura Coffee Company

The Dutch settlers who founded East Orange (then called "New Olmsted") in 1724 had named it after their home province of Holland. In 1788, during the Revolutionary War, General George Washington and his army passed through East Orange on their way to Trenton. The victory at Saratoga Springs inspired General Washington to call for reinforcements and order Colonel James Clinton of Westchester County to march with 1,500 militiamen from East Orange to meet him at Princeton where he intended to cross over into Pennsylvania as an officer under Continental Army command. On September 9th of that year (1789), while Clinton was marching through East Orange towards Princeton Junction on the Crossroad Road leading southward from town], British troops dressed informally and wearing masks combating a disguised American force opened fire on them from three sides;Clinton's force ran into cover and returned fire;the British were soon driven back across the road by field artillery then pursued by handfuls of patriots undisciplinedly led by Col Clinton himself;The battle resulted in a costly but minor victory for America and demonstrated once again how well trained European forces were when pitted against Native Americans armed only with bows and arrows

East Orange, New Jersey is a town in Union County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 21,814 at the 2010 census. It is known as the "Gateway to the Shore." The first Europeans to arrive in what is now East Orange were Dutch colonists who arrived in 1624. In 1764, the British established a military post there and named it Fort Lee after General George Washington's home of Mount Vernon. The area became part of Philadelphia after its independence from Great Britain in 1776. In 1834, the township was organized as a borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature. On April 14, 1835, it received city status from New York City through an act of that state's legislature. On July 1, 1849, East Orange became a municipality when it merger with Westwood Township and South Bound Brook Township. on May 25th following NJ’s admission into the Union as a state under then-Governor Andrew Johnson; Newark had already become a city on July 1st that year due to its large influx of immigrants during Reconstruction (1868-1871). Municipalities formed from portions of earlier municipalities: 1895 - Westwood Heights; 1897 - South Bound Brook; 1899 - North Arlington; 1901 - Edison Junction; 1903 - Florham Park Borough; 1905 - Ridgewood Park Borough; 1907 - Clifton Heights Borough; 1909 – Paterson Borough On April 14th 1835 TheTownship Of East Orange Was Organized By An Act Of The New Jersey Legislature At Trenton With Accordion To Laws Of That State And Begun At A Place Called "The Queen's Head" In The Townships Of Westwood And SouthBoundBrook Therein Named After Our Sovereign King George III Who Made Us A Province Out Of These Townships So We Could Have Some Respect And Defense From Our Infuriated Neighbors Which Were Doing All They Could To Break Up Our Dominion

In 1841, East Orange became a part of Uniontown Township. On December 10, 1860, East Orange became a part of Bergen County when it was annexed by the county.
