This article noted that a new coffee plantation had been set up in East Orange by Mr. John Cavanaugh and his son John Jr. It was reported that this plantation would produce "the best quality of coffee ever grown" and would be good for "table use or brewing." In 1916, The Daily Record printed an article entitled "Coffee Bean War Begets Price Hike." This article described how prices for coffee had increased due to World War I and competition from other countries. As a result of these high costs, many people chose not to buy fresh roasted coffee anymore. However, some old timers still enjoyed their cup of Joe every morning!

Some of the earliest references to coffee were found in ancient Greece, where it was mentioned as a drink for invalids and those who could not walk. In Rome, coffees were roasted by slaves before being sold to the wealthy. After arriving in America, Coffee was typically grown in Africa or South America. The first coffee houses were opened in New York City in 1685 by Nicholas-Jacques Conte and Giovanni Battista Faldi, two Italians who had purchased land near Wall Street. The early American coffeehouses served a variety of drinks such as Mr. Coffee (a blend of coffee and milk), hot chocolate, ginger ale, brandywine, claret sauce and Madeira wine. In 1795 John Jacob Astor began importing coffee from Arabia and adding new flavors to his original roastings including cloves, cinnamon sticks and allspice. By 1800 more than 1,000 different roasters operated in New York City alone; some producing over 20 different types of coffee each week! In 1812 Aaron Burr discovered that when he burned an acre of sugar cane near Nashville Tennessee it produced about 2 tons of sweet brown beans per acre – enough beans for just one barrel of crude oil! This discovery led Burr to start production on his own plantation at Roanoke Island which would eventually produce over 2 million pounds of premium quality Arabica beans annually! In 1886 Dutchman Adriaen van der Zandt started selling whole bean espresso at his Java House Cafeteria in New York City’s Lower East Side; this became one of the largest single sources for fresh roasted espresso world-wide until dominance was given over by Italian cafes starting around the turn of the 21st century. As demand grew for unadulterated flavor profile across genres ranging from classic Italian blends like Milanese Roast or Argentine Cappuccinos through modernist creations like French Presses or Ethiopian Kaffee Beds – Van der Zandt’s legacy lives on as one of the most iconic cafes ever!

East Orange, New Jersey is a borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 27,509 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Newark–Menlo Park Metropolitan Statistical Area. The borough was founded on February 14, 1814 by Colonel George Washington and other Revolutionary War veterans as an outpost on the south shore of Lake Passaic from which they could monitor Indian communications. The boundaries were first defined in 1824 when East Orange became part of West Nyack Township. In 1847, East Orange became independent from West Nyack Township and its residents voted to secede from Bergen County and form their own municipality called "East Orange". On November 2nd of that year they held a referendum resulting in a majority voting in favor of secession and incorporation into the new Borough of Easton. On January 1st, 1860, the Borough of Easton merged with the Parish of Hackensack to form what is now known as "Hackensack-Easton". On May 15th, 1922, during World War II (the war to end all wars), local resident Morris White organized what are now known as "Operation Neptune's Spear" or simply "White's Raid" – an attack against Japanese forces located along Long Island Sound – which began with sporadic gunfire and ultimately led to over 200 Japanese soldiers being killed or captured. This event is considered one of the most significant military engagements in American history. “When I got there there wasn't much here save for some ruins due to firefights between USAAF bombers pounding home town German positions night after night...What little there was had been looted years earlier by Axis troops who had burned everything they could find not just within our borders but also right across Lake Passaic where Frankford Road meets Patterson Avenue” - Morris White while describing his origins story
