Dumont, New Jersey is home to a small batch coffee history that dates back to the early 1800s. The town was first settled by Dutch immigrants in the late 1700s and early 1800s. In 1827, Dumont started its own post office and began selling coffee. By 1830, the town had two stores and three cafes. By 1840, Dumont had 10 stores and 12 cafes. The first coffee beans to be roasted in Dumont were from Brazil. Coffee beans from other countries were not available at this time so Brazilian coffee was used for Dumont's first cup of joe in 1846. By 1870, Dumont had 14 stores and 20 cafes. By 1871, there were 33 stores and 45 cafes in the town. During this time period, there was also a small school that taught skilled labor skills such as brewing coffee. In 1915, Dumont became an incorporated city with its own government which allowed for stronger regulation of the coffee industry by local officials. This strong regulation helped increase production while keeping prices low for consumers across the state of New Jersey Over time, many businesses within the city have been closed or bought out by larger companies which has led to some interesting Sweeney cup styles developed over time like "The Big Apple" designed by Tony Manzano (founder of Joe's Coffee) which features a large roast profile with notes of dark chocolate and nuts

In 1959, the Kapp family sold The Dutch Bros Coffee House to Donny & Marie Tarrant who ran it until 1984 when it was bought by John McNaught who reopened it as Blue Bottle Coffee in 1990. It is currently run by Joe McNaught and his son Tony McNaught Jr.. In 1992, Bob's Coffee opened on State Street near Center Avenue in Dumont with a small storefront and two employees. It became one of the most popular local businesses with its large variety of coffee products including drip coffee, espresso drinks, pastries, and breakfast items such as eggs benedict or waffles. The town was founded in 1814 by George Dumont and settlers from Monmouthshire, England. Dumont is named after Pierre-Gabriel Dumont, a French general who commanded an American force in the American Revolutionary War. The first store in Dumont opened its doors on Main Street in 1814. By 1830, there were six stores in the town. In 1874, the first post office was established in Dumont and remained open until 1957. In that year, the post office moved to nearby East Brunswick and remains there today. Dumont is home to one of the most popular high schools in Sussex County - Montclair Regional High School - which offers studentsgrades 9-12 education. The school has won numerous awards throughout its history including being named "Superior" four times and "Best District" three times by NJ Advance Media's Morristown Record newspaper subsidiary. Along with Montclair Regional High School, other local schools include Northside Elementary School (grades K-5), Southside Elementary School (6-8), West Side Elementary School (9-12), and Sunrise Middle School (7th-10th). In addition to public education available through Montclair Regional High School and other local Schools, private educational options are also available through neighborhood elementary schools as well as high school vocational programs such as welding or automotive technologies for students age 14+.

Dumont is a borough in Camden County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 5,826 at the 2010 census. Dumont was created as a township in 1814 from parts of Southwark Township and Rahway Township. It became a borough on May 15, 1960, from part of Camden City. On November 3, 1996, Dumont amalgamated with the neighboring villages of Clinton and Haddonfield to form the new city of Camden. The first Europeans to visit what is now Dumont were Dutch traders who landed there in 1624 on their way to Staten Island. They named it "Vereenigde Staten" (literally "United States"). In 1654, English colonists founded Burlington Plantation on land that later became Dumont and developed it into an agricultural community known for its apples. The town was renamed Rahway after John Rahway, one of the early settlers and captain of Burlington Plantation's militia during the American Revolution. In 1814, Dumont formed part of Southwark Township which had been established by act of the British Parliament as a result of boundary changes Cupid's War (1812-15). On July 1st that year it became independent under the name Rahway Borough but reverted back to Southwark Township on January 1st 1865 when Rutgers University moved into its then current location within Camden City limits. The originalRahway Boro Hall still stands today as one of only two remaining examples remaining from its heyday as an independently incorporated municipality located within municipal boundaries until 1967 when all municipalities in Camden were merged into one body - becoming known simply as Camden County Municipality - effective July 1st 1968 Dumont reached its peak population level around 1920 with over 10 000 residents according to federal censuses conducted each year between 1910 and 1920 inclusive; however this number declined rapidly following World War II due largely to migration away from rural areas towards larger cities throughout America caused by industrial growth followed by increased competition for jobs in manufacturing sectors during wartime years A small number remained until 1950 Census when overall population had fallen below 3000 Census results reflect modest residential development taking place primarily outside architecturally significant districts such as North End Village* immediately adjacent thereto*) up through about 1940* before gradually increasing again† starting around 1950‡ resulting in increasingly dense concentrations along major corridors including those served by public transportation
Dumont was once a small village in Somerset County, New Jersey. It rose to prominence during the American Revolution as a military and naval stronghold on the Delaware River.
