The Coast Guard gift history in Bellmawr, New Jersey dates back to 1916. In that year, the first Coast Guard station was established in the town by then-Governor of New Jersey John F. Kelly. The station was located on the waterfront and it soon became apparent that there was a need for a larger and more efficient facility. So, in 1916, the Pennsylvania Railroad donated land to the state for an addition to the existing state lighthouse at Rising Sun Cove. The new lighthouse would be known as Keeper's Hill Lighthouse and it would serve as the primary lifesaving center for Bellmawr until 1951 when both facilities were moved to higher ground and combined into one new Coast Guard Station called Highlands Lighthouse. At Highlands Lighthouse, archaeologists discovered evidence that there had been a previous human settlement in Bellmawr dating back to 1000 AD! This finding is significant because it provides us with our earliest indication of coastal settlements in New Jersey – something which had been missing up until this point. Additionally, during its time at Highlands Lighthouse, the station served as a training ground for local law enforcement officers who were later put into use on Long Island during World War II. In 1954, Keeper's Hill Lighthouse was finally decommissioned and turned over to private ownership. However, due to its importance within maritime history and also because of its location within close proximity to many ports throughout New Jersey – including Camden – Keeper's Hill still remains an important part ofBellmawr's heritage today!

Bellmawr was established in 1795 and incorporated as a town on February 3, 1836. The community sprang up around the mill run by Nicholas Bell and his family. The bell tower still dominates the skyline and is an important landmark for locals. The first store in town was opened by George Halsey on Main Street in 1837. By 1840, there were three stores and six shops in town. In 1853, the Post Office moved to its current location on College Avenue and continued to be used until 1957 when it was replaced by a new building on Hempstead Road. In 1854, Nicholas Bell donated land near his home known as "Bell's Mill". This started the process that would lead to the growth of Bellmawr into what it is today – a thriving township with a rich history dating back to early 1800s settler life in this rural corner of NJ! Today, many businesses are based withinbellmawr including: A&P Grocery (Ameritrade), Jiffy Lube (Jiffy Lube), Toys 'R Us (Toys R Us), Dunkin' Donuts (Dunkin' Donuts), KFC (KFC). The Coast Guard is responsible for protecting maritime interests, such as those of the United States and its allies, throughthe performance of law enforcement, marine safety and security missions. In addition to these core responsibilities, the Coast Guard also provides disaster relief and humanitarian assistance. The first coast guard gift was an emblem that signified neutrality in the War of 1812. It was made from a piece of metal taken from HMS Constitution which had been captured by the Americans during that war. In 1940, Rear Admiral John F. Buckley became Commandant of the Coast Guards when President Franklin D. Roosevelt appointed him to that post after Vice Admiral James Wickersham resigned due to health concerns related to his alcohol abuse. Buckley quickly modernized and restructured the coast guard forces and established better cooperation with other government agencies across America’s coasts. He also developed new ways for coastal communities to interact with the coast guard, including relinquishing power over traffic lights at ports so remote towns could have them (this later led to someotor vehicle accidents). Buckley left office in 1946 but his legacy can be seen in many ways throughout the Coast Guards history- notably its current mission which is called “ guarding America’s most important waterways”

Bellmawr is a town in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 8,898 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Camden–Newark Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what would become Bellmawr was Nicholas Noyes who arrived in 1714. By 1727, two families had moved to the area and by 1728 there were 10 residences in all. A post office was established at this time and remained in operation until 1852. In 1812, Samuel Fenton built a cabin on Mount Desert Island for his family and their dogs which still stands today as one of the few remaining original structures from that time period inBellmawr Township. In 1814, Nathaniel Pope also erected a cabin on Mount Desert Island for himself and wife Deliverance Pope (née Smith). They were the only married couple living within township boundaries at that time. In 1830, George Tilton bought 1 acre (0.40 hectare) of land northwest of present day Bellmawr from John McKnight for $250 cash; it became an amateur golf course known as "Tilton's Creek." He donated it to township trustees upon his death in 1850. That same year saw the erection of a public schoolhouse on Ridge Road near present day Springvale Drive – the first such building west of Philadelphia acrossstate lines then existing within New Jersey’s borders In 1835-36 Robert Townsend constructed a log home on Long Pond southeast ofpresent day Springvale Drive for himself and his three children (John Patey Townsend II age 12 months old when he died), daughter Sarah & son Robert Grafton Townsend aged 3 years old & 5 months old respectively – these dwellings remain standing today as well . In 1861 Anthony Browne erected a frame house on Little Egg Harbor Cove northeastof present day Springvale Drive for himself & 2 female slaves named Maria Anna Brownell age 21 yrs., 6 mos., young girl named Esther “Polly” Brownell age 9 yrs., 5 mos., both free black women who worked with him during their pregnancies; they are considered “the earliest residents of Bellmawr Township” There continued to be many individual residential constructions throughout pioneer days with homes being built by citizens or others close to them while commercial establishments took root later .It is said that bell mawr initial growth may have been due to various factors including: cheap land prices due largely to invasion by British forces during war between America & Great Britain; influxes of new settlers coming through Gloucester County primarily those seeking opportunities away from slavery; improving transportation available thanks to railroad construction; favorable climate which allowed agriculture to take hold despite lack of rainfall .During World War I munitions production increased along with demand resulting in more people moving into town making it one of its most populated areas ever ; following peace negotiations after WWI some businesses closed but others reopened including bell mawr's first grocery store which opened December 15th 1921 ; becoming an incorporated municipality November 16th 1925) With its incorporation came many changes including establishment of local fire departments staffed by laymen rather than professional firefighters which limited potential hazardous activity such as arson etc.; development over time towards downtown center where stores now line Main Street with restaurants located along South Orange Avenue serving up fresh produce etc.; expansions into other parts NJ like East Brunswick where land has been acquired providing even more space
Bellmawr was a small town in central New Jersey, located on the east side of the Monmouth County line. The community was first settled in 1794 by Nicholas and his wife Elizabeth (née Bell) and their four children. The name derives from a word meaning "fir tree." The Bell family continued to live in the community until 1838, when they moved to Morristown. In 1860, Edward G. Sibley, Sr. founded Sibley's Department Store at what is now milepost 9 on Interstate 95 in nearby Perth Amboy; Bellmawr thus lost its importance as a retail center. In 1892, the town had 1,500 residents and was incorporated as a borough; it merged with Perth Amboy Township in 1971 to form Monmouth County Borough #1.
