The United States Air Force deployed a gift to Asbury Park, NJ in 1951. The gift was the first helicopter within the USAF and it served as a Test Helicopter Squadron (THS) unit until 1957. It is also considered to be one of the most successful helicopter deployments in USAF history. The THS flew over 100 missions during its deployment, flying research and development helicopters for various NATO countries. Additionally, the THS logged more than 500 hours in service with distinction.

Asbury Park is a town in Monmouth County, New Jersey, United States. The population was 26,739 at the 2010 census, making it the 9th-most populous municipality in New Jersey. Asbury Park was incorporated on February 17, 1879. It is part of the Camden–Newark metropolitan area. The first Europeans to visit Asbury Park were Dutch traders and explorers who landed there on April 14, 1614, during the height of English colonization of New Netherland. The first European settler in what would become Asbury Park was Nicholas Astor from Queens County, New York; he purchased land located near modern-day Neptune Avenue and Atlantic Avenue for £3 per acre (0.50 ha). In 1837 Astor's son John Davenport became one of the incorporators of Township 7 (later Asbury Park), which grew to include much of today's boroughs and townships within its boundaries. Davenport served as Mayor of Asbury Park from 1851 to 1861 and Deputy Mayor from 1865 until his death in office on November 10th. He was also an Alderman from 1867 to 1870 and again from 1875 until his death four years later at age 71 after being impeached by fellow Alderman John Parnell for accepting bribes while serving as Collector of Taxes for Morris County. Withdrawing troops during World War II led to a decline in population; however, this changed with the opening of Interstate 95 in 1964 which created new jobs opportunities for people living near the famous Motor Speedway Boulevard exit off I-95 near Calverton Harborouqe State Beach - quickly becoming one of NJ's most popular tourist destinations among well-to-do families looking for a relaxing vacation spot without all the hustle and bustle typical elsewhere along America's " Motorway." It wasn't long before bars opened up around I-95 Exit 9 known as "The Strip" or simply "The Strip". By 1978 over 20 Bars had opened up including Club Monaco which later became Arlene’s Grotto & Casino followed by Crown casino & luxury hotels such as Harrah’s Hotel then Tropicana Resort casino with its own beachfront property across teamster tracks running through town center opposite Hilton Garden Inn next door where now stands Bally’s hotel once home to Penn National Golf Club before that facility closed down due numerous robberies events taking place throughout its months long occupancy including two nights in January 2002 resulting in $170 million loss for gaming company Coty Incorporated who lost many high profile customers including some Forbes 400 list members presidents Bush Sr., Clinton etc.). In recent years several small businesses have reopened or been resurrected like Harvey’s Steakhouse reopened inside former Jiffy Lube building just east side Route 29 between Second Street/Route 287 South/Lakehurst Road & Third Street/Rte 287 North exterior entrance) open since early 2014 called “Hollywood Tavern” features live music nightly 6pm - midnight outside Flamingo Grill restaurant

Asbury Park, New Jersey is a small town located in Monmouth County, New Jersey on the lower Delaware River. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. Asbury Park is known for its History and culture, which has been founded by English colonists in the 17th century. The town boundaries were established in 1814 and have remained unchanged since then. Asbury Park's economy is based on tourism, manufacturing, and services. The first Europeans to reach Asbury Park were Scottish settlers who landed in 1676 and built a fort called Fort Christina atop anice Hill. British colonists arrived in 1681 and began farming the area around Asbury Creek. By 1715, they had settled on the present-day east side of the creek where they erected a small log cabin known as "The Castle". In 1718, Sir John Johnson purchased land from Dutchmen near what is now Monmouth Junction (now Neptune's Isle). He named his new settlement "Asbury" after his friend and mentor Lord Dartmouth. In 1739, Sir John commissioned Surveyor General Robert Mylne to study possible sites for a military post within 100 miles of Philadelphia. Mylne recommended that Asbury be chosen as the site for this new post because of its strategic location along both banks of the Delaware River with convenient access to water resources. On February 20, 1740, Governor Thomas Robinson authorized Mylne to lay out a square block bordered by four streets: State Street on one side; High Street on another; Clinton Street on yet another side; and Ridge Road across from it all (the modern-day intersection of Highland Avenue and Ridge Road). The original plan included barracks for up to 1,500 soldiers but only 10 Spirit soldiers garrisoned Asbury at any given time due to financial constraints introduced by George Washington during his tenure as Commander-in-Chief of America’s army during the Revolutionary War (1775 – 79). A lock system was installed at Kings Highway so that goods could be transported directly into Philadelphia without having to go through Newark or Trenton! In order for residents to enjoy their quiet lifestyle outside of city noise level restrictions set forth by Queen Anne’s edict in 1729–30 (and later rescinded), Assemblyman Nicholas sulky offered an exemption from paying taxesIF he moved from “a place near Newark . . . about twenty rods distant from thence” into “Asburie [sic] upon t riseing high ground betweene those places” - an offer that quickly became popular among community leaders eager not only secure their homes against destruction but also maintain distance from larger communities unable or unwillingeto take such measures protectors felt threatened thereby reducing political power wielded by eastern seaboard elites over rural masses living below poverty line
