These helicopters are now operated by stunt pilots from nearby Manchester Airport while they undergo restoration work at intakes that were damaged during takeoff operations in 2003. On July 9, 2006, Commodore George P. Haggerty Jr., Commander UH-60 Black Hawk Squadron 1st Fleet awarded Mayor Melvin Jepsen with an honorary commission in recognition for his donation to help improve public safety through crime prevention measures implemented by City Hall over several years beginning in 2002 when he became mayoralty candidate against incumbent Richard Luteau Jr.. It should be noted that this event was not related to any donations made by Commodore Haggerty himself but rather was a presentation done honorably in recognition for Mayor Jepsen’s dedication to public service
