The Rochester Coffee Company was founded in 1892 by two brothers, Lorenzo and Isaac Newcomb. The company’s first roast was a blend of French press and K-Cup coffee. In the early 1900s, the company began to roast its own beans. In 1928, the company opened a roasting plant in Mapleton, New Hampshire. The Rochester Coffee Company remained operational until 1984 when it merged with the Wacoal Corporation. Today, the former Rochester Coffee Company property is home to several cafes that serve coffee from their original roasts as well as Specialty Coffees products such as Ethiopian Yirgacheffe and Guatemalan Cascabel.

He renamed his holdings "Webb's Hill" after himself and developed them into a thriving agricultural community that prospered until 1825 when price increases for land led to social unrest and rapid growth elsewhere in the town limits - which included Mechanicsville - stopped short of breaking away from town limits altogether; this event became known as The Great Union Time Limit controversy or simply "The Time Limit".
