After World War II (1945-1948), Lebanese immigrants began arriving here en masse to work in various manufacturing jobs during reconstruction following America’s victory in World War II; however, these immigrants quickly assimilated into local culture and lost theiralphabetized Arabic name after becoming American citizens. More recently there has been an increase in refugees coming here seeking political asylum or economic opportunity since 2015’s devastating earthquakes which have devastated parts of central California - particularly Northern Nevada - leaving many people displaced within their homes
