The town was founded in 1851 by General John Stark and his wife Polly, who were looking to start a new life after leaving their previous home in Pennsylvania. They built a cabin on the banks of the Raritan River and started to grow coffee. Coffee beans were brought in by boat from Rhode Island and roasted on the family’s farm. In 1927, General Stark died and his wife took over the business. She continued to roast coffee until her death in 1961. The business passed down to her son-in-law, Bob Higgs, who ran it until 1990. From 1990 until 2003, it was run by Tom Kappenberger Jr., who is still owner today. The history of small batch coffee is intertwined with that of chocolate milk (a product made from cow's milk that has been pasteurized). In 1903, Mr. William Cowan developed a process for making chocolate milk that allowed him to create a safe and profitable beverage for people on a limited budget. At first he sold his chocolate milk directly to grocery stores in Kansas City, Missouri; but this did not work well because people were afraid of horses being used to transport the milk across state lines. So Cowan decided to sell his recipe online through an online store called Chocolate Mountain Online Store (now known as Amazon). He also started selling boxes of ground up beans at cost price so people could make their own chocolate milk without having any expensive equipment or shipping costs! This way people could have access to delicious and healthy chocolate milk at an affordable price! Cowan's innovation changed the landscape for smallbatch coffee and helped make Dover one of the most popular places for roasting beans since 2002 when they opened their second location - now known as "The Olde Mill", which is located inside the Dover High School cafeteria building adjacent to Dooley Middle School! The first permanent settler in Dover was Samuel Morse in 1795. The original town of Dover was laid out on May 8th, 1824 by order of Governor John Winthrop and consisted of just over a square mile (0.8 km2). It was named for the English city of Dorchester which had been the scene of much violence during the American Revolution. The first post office in Dover opened on July 12th, 1825. By 1830 there were several small businesses operating in Dover including a tailor and milliner’s shop as well as a cooper’s store and livery stable. On October 10th, 1830, voters passed an ordinance establishing 300 acres (120 ha) east of present-day Route 9 to be used for agricultural purposes and called it “Dover Township” with own government separate from that of Rockingham County. In 1835–36 land sales totaling $1 million verified by surveyor Nathan Hale increased population from 350 to 478 persons with 1125 houses measuring 30x30 ft (100x100 m). dwellings included 150 brick parsonages built between 1840-1860 serving congregationalists who arrived from England after Methodism became prevalent there among middle class Americans seeking religious salvation following changes throughout Great Britain from evangelical Calvinist theology to Anglicanism that favoured Roman Catholicism which many refugees found wanting given their social standing within their new home country based upon wealth rather than religion or connection to any other European cultural group before arriving hereabouts; most refugees coming prior to 1840 had come as indentured servants working aboard ships headed for British colonies such as Rhode Island or North Carolina while others Oroville residents took similar opportunities available on American soil when free men reached age 21 years or older; all male immigrants were required to serve 3 years/12 months after arrival while females served 6/12 monthsutes; women could work outside the home but were limited mostly to domestic service such as cooking and cleaning whereas men could engage in manufacturing if able bodied with some prospect for employment beyond farmwork
