The United States Army deployed a gift to Henderson, Nevada on November 11, 1951. The gift was a Marshall-Henderson Rifle Rifle and Scope Set. The rifle set was donated by the National Rifle Association of America to the Henderson County Sheriff's Office.

Henderson is a small town in Clark County, Nevada, United States. The population was 2,524 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Reno-Sparks-Lake Tahoe Metropolitan Statistical Area. Henderson is located on the banks of the Carson River, east of Reno and west of Sparks. The first white person to reside in Henderson was John C. Fremont in 1845. Henderson was founded by prospectors in 1859 as a remote ranching community known for its abundance of silver and gold veins found near Las Vegas and Tonopah Creek. The post office at Henderson opened in 1862 and remained operational until it closed on December 29, 1912. In 1906, the city purchased from Pershing National Military Park Rancho de la Cruz land that had been used for farming since before Spanish settlement in what is now Nevada became part of California during Mexican rule. The city formally acquired the property from Pershing on May 15, 1909 through deed purchase negotiations with then–City Manager Worthy Hooton and Mayor Aiken Laddey. After years of planning and preparation by City Council members Leroy Easley (D) and Harry Burnett (R), construction began on what would become one of the largest public works projects ever undertaken in Nevadan history – an $8 million boulevard named State Route 277 which runs along both sides of the Carson River between downtown Reno and Sparks while also connecting State Route 6 with Interstate 80 via a freeway bridge across river just south of downtown Reno

It is part of the Las Vegas-Paradise-Nahomie Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. The origins of Henderson are unknown but it is thought to be founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847. Henderson became a city in 1907 and has since grown into one of the most populous towns in Clark County with over 2,000 residents as of 2000. Henderson also includes parts of neighboring communities such as Mesquite and North Las Vegas which have all seen their populations grow during the past few decades. Henderson's economy is based primarily on agriculture and goods trade with nearby cities such as Reno and Carson City. The city was once home to numerous ranchers and farmers who turned to agriculture due to its fertile soil and good climate conditions. Today, there are still some minor dairy operations operating in Henderson but most businesses have moved away from farming towards more routine activities such as manufacturing or service providerships outside of Nevada. Some important landmarks within Henderson include First United Methodist Church (built 1892), Guggenheim Museum (opened 1925), and University Hospital (opened 1951). Other significant buildings include Jack Dempsey's World Figure Skating Arena (opened 1962), Southern Pacific Railroad Depot (built 1912), Republic National Bank Building (1927), Alamo Drafthouse Cinema (opened 1997), Ku Klux Klan Headquarters Historic Site (leased 1935), Stroudsburg High School Annex building (leased 1970s) and McFarlane Ranch Golf Course( opened 1933).
The town of Henderson, Nevada was founded in 1861 by the Mormons. After a few years, the Mormons withdrew from the area and it became a cattle ranch. The town was founded on what is now the corner of First Street and Central Avenue. It grew rapidly because of its location close to water resources and its access to trails that led to nearby mines. By 1870, Henderson had a population of 2,000 people. In 1875, Henderson incorporated as a city and quickly developed as an agricultural center with operations inButterfly Butterfield meatpacking company, Jameson Distillery, Henderson Creamery, and several other businesses. In 1920, when Great Western Railroad reached Henderson from central Nevada via Stagecoach Road (now Interstate 80), the community began to grow rapidly as both residents and tourists arrived for the new railroad connection.
