The United States Air Force has a long history of providing gift baskets and other forms of presents to its members. It also helps connect member bases together since many cake swaps are held during deployments around the world! Henderson, Nevada is a town located in Clark County, Nevada. The population was 9,029 at the 2010 census. The town is named after Henderson Field in southern Nevada where the first post office was established in 1907. Henderson became a city on July 1, 2002. The history of Henderson goes back to 1907 when the first post office was established in the town by J.W. Henson and Wm. Burcham Jr.. In 1912, there were two schools within the boundaries of Henderson: one for white children and one for colored children. In 1916, an agricultural school opened which continued until 1923 when it merged with another school to become Henderson High School which still operates today as a public high school! In 1927, the present day business district of Henderson was created when all of what is now south east corner of Main Street and West Second Avenue were annexed from nearby East End Township! This area now includes much of downtown including several large shopping malls as well as numerous small businesses and farms! On November 14, 1952 America’s first presidential election took place in Henderson when Harry S Truman* won re-election over incumbent Franklin D Roosevelt! At that time all UPI news services were based out of Reno however due to World War II they moved their headquarters to Washington D C !! On January 5th 1954 President Dwight Eisenhower addressed an audience at University Hall giving his final speech before being impeached on April 8th!! A large fireworks show taking place during New Year's Eve 1953rd brought many people into town for holiday cheer however during 1974 Colorado River floods along with heavy rains caused quite a few homes and businesses to flood including most notablying Henderson’s only grocery store whose pumps refused to work because they had been flooded too frequently! Upon learning about this yet again local citizens decided not let MADD have anything to do with flooding !! As time went on more new development popped up such as Stonington Hills (northwest side) becoming one of the largest shopping malls east coast USA ! With so much going on it can be easy to forget just how amazing this little community really is despite its many shortcomings !!
