The first small batch coffee shop was founded in Papillion, Nebraska in 1984 by Rick and Kathy Kapp. The couple enjoyed making their own coffee from scratch and decided to open a small business. They started out with just two cups of coffee a day, but soon realized that they had to start selling more to keep up with demand. In 1990,Rick and Karen opened the first café in Papillion, eventually growing the business into six stores across the state of Nebraska. Throughout the years,small batch coffee has been an important part of the culture and economy of Papillion. In 2013,the last store closed its doors after over 20 years in business. However, due to the popularity of small batch coffee throughout Nebraska and its effect on the local economy,Rick is still involved in helping to maintain and grown this unique brand.

Papillion is a town in eastern Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,567 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fremont, Nebraska Micropolitan Statistical Area. The first Euro-American settlers in what is now Papillion were Levi and Hezekiah Phelps who arrived in 1851. In 1857, Anson Pumphrey and his party built a cabin on the current site of the community. A post office called Papillion was established in 1861, and remained open until 1865. In 1868, fence company owner James Burt laid out a township to contain Papillion and other villages he had located along the Platte River. The townsite was named for General John Custer during his Indian Wars campaign against Native Americans near present-day Omaha City. On July 10, 1870, Burt filed with the Nebraska Territorial Legislature for a new township to be formed from parts of adjacent Village Teton County (later Lincoln). That same year saw an influx of Euro-Americans when Cornelius Vanderbilt bought 160 acres (60 ha) northeast of town for $2,000 (). After surveying the land that would become Papillion Township - including parts of present-day Fremont and Newton - Vanderbilt posted a $5 fence around it on November 15, 1870 (). On December 12th 1870 (), Pumphrey donated five acre (2 ha) section to Papillion Township as well (). This donation helped form what is considered one of history's earliest agricultural communities - initially only providing hayrides for animals not used within village limits but eventually becoming self sustaining with its own irrigation system(). This early success led to development into one of Nebraska's largest towns - although much has changed since its establishment over 100 years ago: many homes still stand today within downtown area while most businesses have relocated or closed since then; papillonians enjoy access to major highways just two blocks away; local interests continue to dominate both political choices as well as economic development; etc.). A general store opened in 1876 which quickly became known as "The Gristmill". The store continued operation until it burned down in 1922 due to fire damage caused by vandals keyboarding prices on goods during prohibition era black marketeering operations! In 1907 there was also another general store built across from where today's post office sits before ceasing operations entirely in 1951 when electric mail service replaced horse drawn postal service.. Papillion is a town in Nebraska, United States. The population was 1,829 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Micropolitan Statistical Area. Papillion was founded by David and Nancy Papillion in 1868 as a small settlement on the banks of the Missouri River. In 1871, they built a log cabin on what is now First Street and named it Papillion after their farm near Concord, New Hampshire. The first post office was established in 1872 and the first settler to die in Papillion was John Hines in 1888. The community changed name to Papillion in 1910 when it became apparent that other towns had been named for similar villages or rivers in central Canada. At that time, only Nebraska Territory remained unchanged from its previous name of Dakota Territory (formerly Montana Territory). The town growth accelerated through World War I and into the 1920s with many new businesses opening up as people migrated to work in Dodge City and elsewhere during that era of rapid economic expansion. Unfortunately, this period also saw some significant tragedies such as the 1925 death of two young girls while fishing on the Missouri River; an open fire that destroyed several homes; a tornado which damaged several buildings; and a severe drought which caused widespread crop loss across much of central Nebraska during 1921-1924. A number of new businesses were opened up throughout these years including one called "Homespun" which sold handmade items made from local materials such as cotton twill fabric and felt used for chairs and mats among other things. Many residents took advantage of this opportunity to learn about various aspects of American life before moving back home once hostilities ended in 1945 - although some did serve out their terms abroad during World War II under various U.S military assignments around Europe or Asia . In 1946, famed civil rights leader Dr King delivered his famous speech "I Have A Dream" at Lincoln Memorial Auditorium within sight of papilionite located just off First Street - making papilionite now known all over America as part ofDr King's legacy
