This led to new development such as grain elevator companies being established along with other manufacturing businesses such as soapstone quarries and breweries that sprang up around downtown Omaha during this time period. In 1932, an act was passed which formally named Lincoln after Ulysses S., Jr., making it an unincorporated community within Johnson County. On February 14, 1934 local officials announced that Stagecoach Lines had agreed to build a depot at Center Street & North Third Street (later renamed First Avenue) in downtown Omaha; this would become home to both Amtrak's Great Northern Line Train Station (opened 1935) which served passenger trains between Chicago/Milwaukee/St Paul IL/Minneapolis MN station and Omaha until it closed its doors in 1984 while Amtrak's current Capital Corridor Train Station opened on April 15th 2009 at 1001 South Farnam Street serving passenger trains between JFK International Airport NJ/Washington D C airport AND stops at Ironton IA & Council Bluffs IA; Amtrak currently operates service through those stations!
