Small batch coffee originated in Lexington, Nebraska in the late 1800s. The first small-batch coffee was made by an entrepreneur named Harry J. Hansen. Hansen started a small grocery store and started selling coffee beans to local businesses. He sold his coffee through word of mouth and he developed a loyal following among local businesses. In 1925, Hansen created the first small-batch espresso machine in Lexington. This machine allowed for the production of two ounces of coffee per minute, which was then considered high quality! In 1938, Harry J. Hansen passed away and his son took over the business. The father's legacy live on through his son, who continues to experiment with different types of coffee and produce high-quality products today!

Coffee was first grown in the rural areas of Nebraska, and it was often sold from small family-owned shops. The first coffee shop in Lexington opened in 1907, and it served as a source of livelihood for many local residents. In the 1930s, Lexington became one of the most significant coffee towns in Nebraska.Between 1933 and 1945, more than 200 businesses operated within a radius of 300 miles of Lexington. This period saw an increase in exports to other countries, as well as an increase in coffee consumption throughout Nebraska. After World War II, there was a decline in coffee production due to deforestation and increased competition from other crops. However, since 2000 allocations for land dedicated to growing beans have been increasing again, which suggests that demand for quality bean has remained high across numerous industries

Lexington, Nebraska is a small town located in the state of Nebraska. The population was 3,752 at the 2010 census. Lexington is one of three towns in Lincoln County. The other two towns are Council Bluffs and Okemos. The Town of Lexington was founded on December 12, 1871, by General John A. Logan and Colonel Amos Kendall. The first store in Lexington was built by George Whetstone. In 1882, the town had a population of just over 100 people and consisted of only a few homes and a schoolhouse. The next year saw the opening of the first post office in Lexington when Samuel Jenson opened his store on Main Street. Many businesses were established in Lexington during this time including a grocery store, barbershop, blacksmith shop,auto parts store,and insurance company headquarters; all still active today! In 1902-1903, Lexington experienced its greatest growth period with the arrival of several large families from Illinois who began to settle there as farmers seeking better soil and climate for their crops than what they could find back home. By 1907-1908 there were over 400 residents living in Lexington; many coming from surrounding villages such as Council Bluffs or Okemos which had already seen heavy settlement throughout that year due to new railroad construction across the stateline! During World War I (1914-18), much activity took place within the town as soldiers stationed here fought on both sides; some staying for months on end while others only stayed for weeks at a time before returning home again! In 1916-17 local resident Harry Ladd served six months imprisonment after being arrested for selling goods to an enemy combatant! During these years several stores around town closed or moved out of business due to lack of customers or competition from larger merchants who had taken advantage of wartime shortages! It wasn’t until 1922 that another post office was opened up within walking distance (just east off US Highway 169) giving locals even more options for getting their mail! Prior to this time letters were mailed using horseback riders who would haul it all the way to Omaha!! This increased efficiency helped contribute significantly toLexington becoming known as “the fastest city in Nebraska” during this time! For many citizens starting in 1922 Lexington became their primary community center with plenty available housing and services closeby should something needs attention like health care or groceries! Additionally newspapers (started back then also called “pamphlets”) became common items bought and read at home instead of going into oneOf those big department stores where you might have to wait an hour or more for your turn! After World War II came down hard on America manufacturing base everywhere production stopped increasing along with jobs leaving America makingLexington one example among many struggling cities across our land – yet despite these challenges & struggles through thick & thin has always remained one beautiful little community spirit creating amazing things like music festivals (& now microbreweries!)
