He enlisted in 1994 and served until 2001. During his time with the Guard, he earned multiple awards including two Distinguished Service Medals and three Silver Stars. Ratcliffe is credited with leading troop deployments to Iraq in 2003 and Afghanistan in 2009. He currently serves as commanding officer for Troop E, 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment based out of Lincoln, NE. In 1969, Bellevue residents Leland Satterwhite and Margaret Wicker founded Stroud-Satterwhite Chevrolet Dealers Ltd., which would become one of Bellevue’s most successful businesses ever. The dealership was started as a small family-owned business with only 12 cars on its lot when it opened its doors to customers on July 1, 1969. In 2007, Stroud-Satterwhite Chevrolet became part of Belvidere Motorsports Inc., which remains today one of Bellevue’s most successful businesses ever! The dealership offers car partsand accessories along with services such as mechanical work on vehicles or repairs/maintenance on engines/axles/transmissions etc….. It is also home to one of Bellevue’s few drag racetracks (the original track located off West Main Street) as well as several other sporting events throughout the year!
