This content is about the history of the Beatrice, Nebraska Army National Guard stationed at Fort Riley. The battalion was mobilized on December 1, 1941 and deployment began on December 4th. The battalion arrived in the area on Christmas Day 1941 and was assigned to Camp Dodge. On January 15th 1942, the battalion transferred to Fort Leavenworth where they were redesignated as Headquarters Battalion, 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized). They equipped with M-1A2 tanks and served in Europe until May 1945. In June 1945 they redeployed back to the United States and reorganized as a regiment headquartered at Omaha, Nebraska before being disbanded in 1948.
Beatrice is a small town in Nebraska, United States. It is located on the banks of the Missouri River, about 15 miles west of Omaha. Beatrice was founded in 1852 by German immigrants. The population of Beatrice was 1,912 at the 2010 census. The first settlers to arrive in what is now Beatrice were Germans who had come overland from Germany in 1851. In 1852, the first post office was established in the town and it soon began to grow as people started arriving from all over Nebraska. By 1865, there were 2 churches and 11 businesses in Beatrice. Some of the early pioneers who came to Beatrice included Johann Gottlieb Herrmann and his family who arrived in1854; Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Kappe and his family who arrived in1856; Michael Kappe and his family who arrived in 1860; August Heinemann and his family who arrived in 1862; George Wausch with his family who came on April 20, 1865; Jacob Weiland with his family coming May 3rd 1865; John Steininger with his party on July 4th 1865 (this group also included 8 children); Ludwig Poppatz (Ludwig Popp) arriving August 6th 1865 along with 5 others including two brothers Jobst Pohlmanns (Johannes Popp) and Heinrich Pohlmanns (Hermann Popp). In 1870, a water tower was built which served bothBeatriceand nearby Omaha until 1903 when that project was completed by the Iowa Utilities Commission. In 1896-97 an electric streetlight service was implemented which still exists today! In 1916-17 an addition to the original beatiful buildingwas constructed which housed a grocery store/cafeteria/theater called "The Star". This building still stands today as part of Beatrice's Historical Districts Office Historic Structure! In 1951-1953 three schools were built: one for grades kindergarten through fifth grade called "The Plain View School"; one for sixth through eighth gradecalled "The Prairie View School"; and one for ninth through eleventh grade called "Alma Mater". These schools continue to serve as active school districts today! One interesting fact about Beatrice is that it has been completely destroyed twice by fire - once during World War II when many homes were destroyed due to bombings during that war; again during Hurricane Harvey which caused extensive damage to several buildings throughout town including The Star Theatre which housed many local residents before being torn down later that year.

Beatrice is a small town in Nebraska, located on the border of Kearney and Fremont counties. The population was 2,824 at the 2010 census. Beatrice was founded in 1881 by two prospectors, W. A. Beatty and J. M. Griggs, as a farming community named Beatrice Springs after their daughter Beatrice. The name changed to Beatrice in 1907 when it became part of the Omaha-Council Bluffs area and then to Beatrice again in 1957 when it became a part of Kearney County. The first post office in Beatrice was established on November 12, 1881, by James Hildebrandt with the name of "Henderson". It operated for six months before being closed due to lack of customers. The first school in Beatrice was built on thesite of an old Methodist church which had been destroyed by a fire in 1875. Classes were held there until 1886 when a new school building was erected which served as the town's primary school until 1915 when it was replaced by the present buildings which were completed that year. During World War I, many local residents enlisted in military service and some even lost their lives serving our country during that conflict; including one man who died while fighting alongside his fellow Nebraskans at Gallipolis, Michigan along side men from all over America! In 1919-1920 an American Legion Post Office operated out of Beatrice for several years before being discontinued because there wasn't enough business to justify its existence outside of Nebraska! In 1951-1954 an Air Force Base (later known as Offutt Air Force Base) operated out of Beattie for several years before it moved to Offutt AFB south of Omaha . After those closures most activities took place within the beatiful walls surrounding the small town until September 2006when Beatspur announced they would be selling their property off to create a large shopping center called "Beatspur Village". There have been sporadic protests against this project ever since!. The village has now been demolished and all that remains are some foundation walls and what appears to be an abandoned building or farmstead
