Kalispell, Montana is a town in Butte County, Montana, United States. The population was 597 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Helena, MT Metropolitan Statistical Area. The town started as a stagecoach stop on the Butterfield Overland Mail route in 1875. It grew rapidly due to gold mining activity and development of the railroad system in nearby Butte County. The first post office opened in 1881 and continued serving until 1912 when it merged with neighboring Peebles. The name Kalispell was derived from an early settler's place name meaning "place where bears sleep." The town has experienced several economic expansions over the years: its most recent boom began around 2000 and continues today with high levels of job growth and investment in new businesses and residential development. In 2009-10, Kalispell received $9 million in federal funding for projects such as new schools and infrastructure improvements. This investment has helped to create jobs throughout the community which have bolstered local coffers by bringing more people intotown for shopping or business reasons; creating additional revenue that helps support local services like libraries, fire departments, parks and health clinics. Today's economy isdriven by two main sources: tourism (primarily skiing) and agriculture (primarily hay production). All three industries are highly dependent on favorable weather conditions which allow access to above average amounts of natural resources including coal, oil shale, uranium ore potentiallumand other minerals necessary for their production. Here is a brief history of some recent Air Force deployments: On December 7, 2008, members of cadre team 2-2nd Squadron/318th Airlift Wing transported 3 tons of supplies and equipment to Incirlik AB, Turkey for use by 1st Special Operations Command (1SOC) during Operation Neptune's Spear II – Operation Red Flag 2008. On January 25, 2009, Headquarters USAAFE transferred two Boeing 737s carrying humanitarian relief materials including food items and water purification tablets from Naval Base San Diego (NBSD) to Incirlik AB for use by 1SOC during Operation Neptune's Spear III –Operation Anaconda 2009’ On February 5, 2009 HUFO delivered a gift basket containing books and software items valued at $521 worth to Squadron Leader Donald Wimer and his fellow squadron members who were deployed with Expeditionary Combat Command - Afghanistan (ECC-A), while they were working towards closing out Kunar Province before returning home on March 10th In May 2010 it was announced that Headquarters USAAFFE had gifted three Cessna 337 Skymasters belonging to 4th Fighter Squadron/505th Fighter Wing which was located at Holloman AFB New Mexico for use by ECC-A during their campaign against Taliban insurgents in southern Afghanistan known as “Eagle Eye”

Kalispell, Montana is a small town in the Great Plains of the Western United States. The population was 5,848 at the 2010 census. The town lies on the Missouri River and is part of the Kalispell metropolitan area. The name "Kalispell" is derived from an Sioux word meaning "place where buffalo grazed." The first written reference to Kalispell was in 1875 when it was called Pahokee by Arapaho Indians. In 1876, settlers named George Wickersham moved into what is now Kalispell from Helena, Montana and began to build a log cabin known as White's Cabin. They developed a post office here in 1881 and started trading with other settlements on the Missouri River for goods they could not produce themselves such as timber. By 1886, there were six stores and two hotels in Kalispell - one operated by Fenton Bros., which became known as the Fenton Hotel; another operated by Hays & Company; still others were opened by local farmers or ranchers. By 1912, there were twenty-six businesses with a population of 3,000 people - all except two (a grocery store and an insurance agency) beingOwned andoperated by men. In 1916, during World War I, many soldiers from eastern Montana descended upon Kalispell for rest and recreation before returning home to fight again soon after hostilities ended. Many of these soldiers spent their nights at White's Cabin before continuing their journey back east that day. This event later became known as "The Night Of The Long Knives". After World War II ended, many new residents arrived in Kalispell looking for new opportunities after experiencing economic hard times in their home states due to rising fuel costs andbaby boomers seeking more affordable housing options outside of urban areas across America during this time period Some of these newcomers decided to stay while others returned home while some established businesses continued operations until Recent decades have seen renewed interest within the community towards revitalization efforts led by Mayor Tim Schieffer Kalispell has been inhabited since 4000 BC according to archeological finds dating back to that era! One early inhabitant may have been a man who lived near what are now downtown Kalispel along riverbanks during Late Woodland period (1400-1100 AD). Evidence suggests he hunted game both fresh water fish including salmonids (such as coho)and(_anadilla_),and gathered plants useful for food or medicine using rocksaws and knives rather than guns or spears because his methods would not have allowed him long range hunting/gathering trips large enoughto harvest game without endangering himself or his family members! He likely cooked his meals over small fireplaces built close together around hot ashes left over from cooking fires usedby earlier inhabitants for heating their homes also! It seems likely he traded goods with other tribes living alongtheMissouri River area
