The Butte National Guard was established on September 18, 1916 as a result of the Sixty-Third and 67th General Assembly resolutions. The unit was created to provide military support for the state of Montana through the enforcement of laws and the prevention of crime. The first battalion was organized on October 1, 1916 with seven enlisted men. On November 5, 1916, the second battalion was organized with fifteen enlisted men and two officers. The first colonel in command of the regiment was Colonel Harry Wills. On January 15, 1917, Butte’s first commander in chief pledged his support for World War I by ordering all patrols within butte to assemble at twelve o’clock p.m. that day at Butte High School gymnasium. This event marked the beginning of Butte’s participation in World War I and also its connection to government service which would continue until 1945 when it became part of Great Britain’s Commonwealth army

Butte Silver Bow is a small town in Butte County, Montana, United States. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Helena-MT Micropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Butte" comes from a range of mountains that run along the eastern border of Butte County. The silver and lead mines have been mined here since 1869; but it wasn't until 1903 when Consolidated Lead Mines (later known as American Metals) opened up operations with an annual production of . In 1907, this company merged with Donnelley & Co., which had been mining lead ore from Buttes since 1861. Over time, other interests began to enter into mining and smelting operations: Scottish Mine No. 6 began producing copper in 1886 and nickel in 1904; while Phelps Dodge acquired interest in both American Metals and Donnelley & Co.'s successor Union Carbide in 1912-13. With these new companies on hand came new employees and equipment, leading to increased output and more jobs for locals over time. American Metals closed up shop in 1984 after successive rounds of layoffs due to changes within the industry caused by technological advancements like induced seismicity at mines like those near Fort Peck (now Billings). Since then, there has been little production from this mine aside from occasional earthmoving antics: during winter 2006/07 a large hole was bored out of the mountain side next to it so that natural gas could be brought down under the surface for use as heat; during summer 2007 some excavating took place inside what used to be American Metals' plant north of town – now part of municipal property leased back to ASM for maintenance purposes only – as part of repairs on an old water main nearby [1]. Despite all this activity though – including financial injections by local businesses into ASM's coffers through itsenfranchisee subsidiary Northern Minerals Inc.–the site remains largely unproductive today except insofar as it still provides employment (at least temporarily) for about 60 local people working various shifts at various underground levels plus some daylaborers above ground who tunnel under the surface on weekdays when work isn’t scheduled [2]. As one would expect given its remote location–just off US 191 south of Helena–Butte Iron Mining Company operated primarily a smelting operation from 1902 until 1935 when they merged with Canadian Metals Limited producing ingots that were either shipped downriver or exported via ship Canal du Midi before reaching their final destination at Montreal where they were melted down and turned into coins or jewelry products such as watches or ringlets etc.—a process that involved breaking apart what remained once pieces were identified (by technology still being refined well into the 21st century) [3]––there are few remnants remaining today beyond foundations[4], signposted “mines open 17 years ago” notices boardwalk just outside town limits—and Highway 26 running adjacent thereto providing access only during daylight hours ([5]), providing no real insight whatsoever into how things got here nor why anyone would want to come explore if they don't have anymining rights! With World War II looming large, President Franklin D Roosevelt created an additional 5 million American troops through Executive Order 9066 which allowed states to call up members of their militias into active duty without having to go through Congress or receive congressional approval. This raised eyebrows since such an order violated constitutional limitations on presidential power set forth by Article I Section 8 of the Constitution which reads: “No State shall raise or support armies within its own borders….” After almost two years of planning and training, President Roosevelt announced on April 12, 1941 that all male citizens between 18 and 25 years old who had resided in each US state for three months prior to registration would be eligible to become part of The American Legion (or “National Military Association”) under certain conditions including having no convictions for theft (a crime punishable by five years imprisonment), engaging in outdoor labor (including menial tasks like cleaning houses), owning property worth $10 per year or less, being registered with either balloting precinct during election season and making monthly contributions totaling $25 or more thereto* (*This not applicable today due to changes made with Social Security numbers). During World War II there was also a Draft Act passed giving people born after December 16th 1917 exemption from service because they were considered too young *.* Assembling your own unit wasn't easy though... so now this isn't something you do lightly There wasn't really much regulation put into place about what you could do with your newly acquired Second Amendment rights once hostilities ceased but many civilians decided simply enough was enough and started banding together into groups known as "militia." A few dozen groups formed across America quickly became thousands over time as individuals began purchasing automatic weapons & armor just in case they needed them while others formed militias purely out OF necessity like joining up with friends/family if they lost their home country/town etc etc... Militia membership also opened up opportunities for criminal activity like extortion & robbery since those who enlisted were often forced into areas where lawlessness flourished & armed mobs were commonly found intimidating witnesses during trials etc etc... There's no question that militia members played an important role during wartime but given how little oversight there was it's likely that some liberties were taken liberties without proper consideration - primarily regarding firepower!
