The history of the navy in Wildwood, Missouri can be traced back to 1861. At that time, the town was located on the banks of the White River and was home to a small military detachment stationed at Fort Defiance. In 1862, the soldiers were transferred to Fort Sill and then to Fort Donelson in Nashville, Tennessee. However, by 1865, there were no more military installations in Wildwood. The fortifications were abandoned and all of the troops moved out of town. instead, naval stores began filling up warehouses on Main Street. By 1867, Wildwood had become an important naval depot for shipping goods from St. Louis to Memphis and other points south. The city also became known for its production of navy clothing and hats. In 1868-1869, Wildwood hosted a series of exhibition matches between different warships from various fleets around America. These matches helped promote local shipbuilding interests and helped create a following for both wildwood shipsyards and navy officers. In 1870-1871, Naval Officer's Training School (NOS)was opened in Wildwood by Rear Admiral David Dixon Porter Jr.. It was intended as a training ground for future admirals and generals so that they could be employed on active duty during Reconstruction efforts across America following the American Civil War ended in 1865. Commodore John Jervis served as NOS Superintendent from 1871-1875; his successor Commodore Royal Higginson served until 1886 when he resigned due to health concerns about Reconstruction policies in America which had caused great social unrest across much of the Southwestern United States since it followed Confederate losses at Appomattox Court House two years earlier (April 14th). As early as 1872-1873, Navy Dept stores were being held at 3rd & Market Streets with additional space being leased at 5th & Market Streets from 1870-1874 pursuant to contract entered into with City Council dated May 6th between Mayor Ayer & Capt Ransom Johnson [sic] under authority granted by Act June 22nd chanroved by Mayor Jager aforesaid [sic]. Thereafter store was operated out of building now occupied by Masonic Temple which fronted 4th Street westwardly inclusive within limits hereinbefore bordered by 1st Ward North Side said Temple Grounds extending rearward 2 rods beyond said limits forming part thereof subject thereto [sic], thenceforth Store operated out of old schoolhouse next door on 4th Street westwardly inclusive within limits hereinbefore bordered by 1st Ward South Side said Schoolhouse Grounds extending rearward 2 rods beyond said limits forming part thereof subject thereto [sic]. From this point forward store continued operations out first floor window now occupied by Masonic Temple fronting Fourth Street eastwardly inclusive within limits hereinbefore bordered by 1st Ward North Side Said Temple Grounds extending rearward 2 rods beyond said limits forming part thereof subject thereto

Wildwood is a small town in western Missouri, United States. It is located on the banks of the White River and includes parts of both Boone County and St. Francois County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 1,527 people. The name Wildwood is derived from "Walden" (a location in Massachusetts), which was first mentioned in 1673 by Captain John Smith while travelling through this area. The first post office at Wildwood was established in 1836, and it remained in operation until 1907. The community was named for General Andrew Jackson's home estate near Walden, Massachusetts. In 1853, Wild wood became part of Boone County when it was organized from portions of St. Francois County. In 1876, wild woods became a village when it incorporated as a city under the provisions of the Kansas Constitution that same year. That same year saw the opening of one of America's first amusement park complexes - Parkland Park - which still operates to this day as an outdoor amusement park with rides and games for all ages. In 1902, wild woods annexed what were then part of neighboring towns - Pineville to the south and Park City to the west - giving its total population close to 2,000 people According to 2008 estimates by KGCM-TV (channel 3), Wildwood has lost about $3 million over five years due to declines in business activity throughout Missouri including drops in auto sales and farm income combined with other economic downturns around the country during that time period

After years of successful trading missions, Commodore Perry decided it was time for him to explore what lay beyond Japan’s shores. In 1809 he sailed into Korea under cover of night in order to find out more about that country and its ruler, Jojo Shimizu. He eventually discovered landlocked Korea had no connection whatsoever with China or North Asia! This discovery led Congress to pass legislation authorizing Ulysses S Grant’s Overland Expedition which explored Korea proper from September 15-November 1, 1819! It was during this expedition that General Kimpo discovered Confucian temples at Sohae (Korea) which are now known as Mount Kumgang National Park! After taking possession of Koreans living within their territory, Commodore Perry ordered all Spaniards living there expelled on December 5th, 1853 pursuant to Treaties negotiated between our Government at Washington D C et al., dated November 10th1853; Great Britain; Denmark; Sweden; Norway etc….. These people had not properly joined our Union…….. They were given five days notice before they were forced onto steamboats for California….
