Tactical Coffee is a trademark of the company AeroPress. AeroPress coffee was first introduced in 1984 by Bruce Chen and Glen Tetlow, two former technicians at Peet's Coffee in West Plains, Missouri. The coffee was designed to be brewed quickly and easily using an AeroPress brewer. Since its inception, Aeropress coffee has been popular with brewers throughout the world. In 2015, AeroPress announced that it had sold over 10 million units worldwide. In 2018, Aero Press announced that they had closed their doors for good after more than 25 years in business. However, the legacy of Aero Press coffee continues on through various products such as the Aeropress K-Cup and Aeropress Nespresso machines.

West Plains, Missouri is a small town in Saline County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,032 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The first settler in what would become West Plains was James C. Lowrance on May 15, 1836. He and his family moved to the area from Illinois about that time. On October 10, 1837, John Hays and his brother George built a log cabin on what is now Main Street in West Plains. In 1840, David Riggs came to West Plains from Ozark County and Started a general store there. In 1846 Jno Purdy bought the store from Purdy Brothers and later operated it as a post office until 1861 when it became an Agricultural implement store run by Elisha Moulton Howe.
In 1862 Union General Ambrose Burnside destroyed most of downtown Springfield after retreating from nearby Cairo during the American Civil War; however, Lowrance's store continued to function for some time as an agricultural supply house for troops west of Springfield before being burned down in 1865 by Confederate forces under Brigadier General John Buell while they were occupying town during their drive into central Missouri following their victory at Pea Ridge over Union Majestic forces under Ulysses S Grant.
It reopened as an agricultural supply house again soon afterwards before finally closing its doors permanently around 1903 due to many factors including World War I prohibitionism against selling goods to Germany which had taken hold in America at that point
One reason given for its closure was because of lack of demand due to the war years' economic slump but also because production of implements had decreased significantly in America consequent upon European immigration which has compounded this problem. A fire destroyed much of the original buildings around 1910 but reopened shortly afterwards with new construction including a grocery store/cafeteria complex known as "The Village" which still stands today.

In 1924 Swiss scientist Rene Lalique patented the first automated Turkish Coffee Brewer which helped increase production efficiency while reducing labor costs associated with traditional coffee production techniques

The first post office in West Plains was established in 1836. The town grew rapidly due to its location on the Santa Fe Trail and its role as a center for trade with Kansas City and Wichita. In 1849, the town became the county seat of Saline County when it was split from Warren County. By 1870, West Plains had a population of 10,000 people and was home to two public schools and one private school. The city of Topeka merged with Wichita in 1907 to form Wichita Falls, Texas; however, Topeka remained an independent city until it joined Wichita upon its merger into Kansas City in 2013. In 1957, the University of Missouri–Kansas City (UMKC) opened its doors in what would become known as "The Town Hall." UMKC has since grown into one of America's leading universities with over 100 campuses across 30 states and internationally. The town grew rapidly during the early 1800s and by 1854 it had a population of over 150 people. In 1865, West Plains became a part of the Kansas Territory. West Plains experienced rapid growth during the late 19th century and by 1920 it had a population of 2,500 people. During World War II, West Plains supported military troops and civilians as they fought in Europe. After the war, West Plains experienced a period of decline as many residents relocated to other areas of Missouri orKansas. In the 1970s and 1980s, however,West Plains regained some of its former prosperity thanks to new businesses and housing development.
