Wentzville is a small town in Johnson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 553 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Hemmaton Micropolitan Statistical Area. Wentzville is located on the right bank of the Blue River and on a bend in its course which creates an exposed valley that provided early settlers with good hunting and grazing land for their cattle. The name "Wentzville" was first settled by German immigrants in 1834. The original millstream called Wentz Creek ran through the community but it has been diverted to form North Rd., which runs parallel to I-435 just east of town. The village plat was filed in 1857 and built on what is now North Rd. In 1865, George Hinton erected a blacksmith shop and store within the limits of present day Wentzville village square, which he named "North Road." In 1868, John Blythe donated three acres (1 km²) of land north of town to establish a public school district; this parcel would later become known as Maplewood Elementary School District No 1. A post office was established at Wentzville in 1870, and remained in operation until 1951. In 1907, Samuel Sarna purchased 640 acres (248 ha) northeast of town along South Fork Blue River for $2 million dollars; this area became known as Sarna Rancho State Park after him and his wife Elizabeth founded it there in 1911 following their purchase of 10 percent (of 640 acres) from Soil Conservation Service Director James Fenton Carruthers Sr.. At one time or another every major employer in Wentzville had close contact with local farmers – such as corn huskers who harvested the corn during summer months; carpenters who built homes around Main Street; dairy farmers who raised cows during winter months; plumbers who fixed water pipes throughout the community; electricians who installed streetlights – all without regard for mileage or hour capacity! By 1932 there were over 100 businesses operating withinwentzipville central Business District alone! A post office operated at WentzVILLE from 1870 until 1951 .

Wentzville is one of three places known as "TheBloody Patch" due to participation by both Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War (1861-1865).
