In 1969, the United States Air Force deployed a gift to the people of Wentzville, Missouri. The gift was an air force A-10 Warthog aircraft. This aircraft is known for its ability to fly at high altitudes and provide aerial refueling support for combat units in Iraq and Afghanistan. The A-10Warthog was donated by the then Lieutenant General Ronald C. McNair III, who served as Deputy Commander of Regional Command Southwest at Fort Worth Army Base from 2004 until his retirement in 2009.

Wentzville is a small town in Webster County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,531 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area. The Beginnings of Wentzville Wentzville began as a farming community on the banks of the Arkansas River. Early settlers were German immigrants who arrived in 1819 and built a log cabin on what is now Center Street. They raised crops and raised livestock until 1834 when they started to buy land around present-day Wentzville to build new homes. In 1836, James Gentry founded Gentry & Son Auctioneers here and continued to operate until his death in 1888. Agrarian pioneer John Denton also settled in Wentzville around this time and became one of its most important citizens. He employed local farmers to help him with his fur business which grew into what is now known as Denton Farms Today, many people still live within walking distance of their homes from when they were first settled here over 130 years ago
