The Webster Groves Army National Guard Unit was organized on July 1, 1932. The unit was named for General John A. Logan, who had been killed in action in World War I. The first members of the Webster Groves unit were men from the 9th Infantry Battalion and the 5th Cavalry Regiment. The Webster Groves Army National Guard Unit has served in many wars throughout its history, including World War II and the Vietnam War. It is one of only a few units to have fought in both conflicts. The unit has also been awarded many medals and citations, including five Presidential Medals of Freedom and three Distinguished Service Medals.

Webster Groves is a small town located in Webster County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,493 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in what is now Webster Groves was Nathan Barker in 1819. He and his family built a cabin on the present site of Webster University's Old Main building. In 1828, General James K. Polk Whitman came through this area on his way to become President of the United States and he stop at Barker's cabin for dinner. This event helped develop the community into what it is today. Today, Webster Groves consists of a mix of historical buildings dating back to before the mid-19th century as well as modern development that has taken place over the years including an agricultural college, a hospital and many businesses such as JCPenney and FedEx Ground. Despite its size, there are still plenty of activities that bring people together such as arts and culture events or farmer's markets that occur every weeknight throughout summertime. The history of Webster Groves can be traced back to 1818 when Nathan Barker found land hereabouts after moving from Virginia with his family wagon train bound for St Louis Missouri Territory (nowJefferson County). In addition to developing this new land himself, Barker hired someone else to help him: Nicholas Gibbs (a white laborer) who lived on nearby Farmington Road until 1850 when he moved eastward across I-70 to take up farming near Columbia City ($ ). From 1830-1836, Longfellow House was also built here by Ebenezer Stevens with assistance from groups like John Quincy Adams' son John Quincy Adams Sr., future American Ambassador to Russia under Presidents James Buchanan & Franklin D Roosevelt; both men were natives of nearby Randolph County which had been ceded by Mexico during the Mexican–American War (1846). On October 3rd 1840 US Senator Daniel Carroll bought two lots adjoining Longfellow House—one bearing date October 2nd 1840 became known as "Old Main" lot #9 while lot #10 became known as "New Main" lot #1 within minutes thereafter due largely to local activism led by Amos Kendall who resided just south/west across I-70 on those same parcels—the only public lands reserved for Native Americans within miles thereof? The title deeds show evidence that Carroll had already made contact with members of both parties involved in Kansas territorial politics preceding their trip westward so it’s most likely that New Main Lot 1 actually refers not just to old main house but also some associated structures situated southwest/northwest along Rd 128 long prior thereto! A few weeks later another deed shows purchase price for “Lot 12” contiguous with “Lot 11” north/south one block west????????? There remain several questions surrounding this transaction given discrepancies between contemporaneous documents pertaining specifically thereto; nevertheless it provides compelling circumstantial evidence demonstrating early involvement by various Party Leaders & Native Americans therein??? Whether or not this property ultimately served as home headquarters for either Mr. Kendall or Mrgina White remains an open question (& one yet unanswered), however !!!!! In any event Mrs Kendall relocated permanently soon afterwards from her original rowhouse location approximately 4 ½ miles northeast adjacent then newly acquired Lots 10 & 11 upon becoming aware of subsequent surveyor efforts tending towards platting out Platte River locations nearer Horsehoe Bend??? Also influential locally during early days herein included Methodist Episcopal Churchbuilder James Bogue who established himself circa 1830 adjacent then northwest cornering Gasconade Road just south/east OF Old Main LOT 1 ??? An entertaining sidelight worth noting occurred right outside Mrgina White’s door about concurrent w/ surveys begun opposite her property line Yards deep — directly across Rte 112 from GASCONADE ROAD ??? Just off Rte 112 sit today SURPRISINGLY large residential infrastructure features???builtbyEMILY HARRISON OF BLAINEFIELD CONNECTION fame regarding early Territorial plans FOR WEST MOBILE COUNTY!!!!!!

Webb Groves is a small town in Jackson County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield-Springfield Township district. The first permanent settlers in Webb Groves were Levi and Nancy Jane Sheppard who arrived on July 24, 1819. They were followed by John Sheppard, Sr., his wife Sarah and their two children on October 2, 1819. The Sheppard family soon had six children and an additional five grandchildren. As Webb Groves grew it became necessary to purchase land from the Indians for agricultural purposes. In 1830, Benjamin Franklin Morse bought three acres (1 km2) of land from the Osage tribe for $5 per acre ($ Today's exchange rate would be about $ ). Morse also acquired a home in Webb Groves which he named "Morse Place". He served as justice of the peace in Webb Groves from 1830 to 1840. In 1840 he sold his house and land to Samuel Phelps Jr., who built a farm there that continues to this day. In 1865 Webster Groves was located within Union County when it was organized; however, due to political boundaries changes later that year it shifted back into Jackson County when Union County was disbanded following the American Civil War. The first post office in WebbGrove was established on December 12, 1865; however no mail ever reached residents because Union County did not have any stations until after the end of the war when a new station was built just east of Webster Groves name on McLaughlin Road (later renamed Elm Street). The Webster Grove cotton gin opened in 1870 with 15 bales/day being processed yielding 5% yarn content according to records kept by JH Atkinson & Sons Ltd.; however this operation shut down around 1902 due to competition from more modern facilities operated by General Mills Incorporated . A second cotton gin opened at same location about 1913 but closed around 1920 due to low yields and high Water usage needed for irrigation projects . A third cotton gin opened approximately 1935 but closed less than a decade later due to similar reasons as above . A fourth cotton gin reopened circa 1955 but ceased operations around 1960 because it could not compete with newer mills having increased storage capacity An indoor poolopened in 1957 which continued operation until 1988
