Warrensburg, Missouri is a town in Logan County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Springfield, MO Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settler in Warrensburg was James McCracken and his family in 1834. The community was named after General George Washington's home of Mount Vernon. In 1835, Wm Hinton established the first store here. A post office called Warrensburg was established on July 9, 1836, by Jno Fenton with a donation from Capt John Sanger. In 1837-38 (or 1840), Ebenezer Richardson built a mill here that became one of the most important mills in central Missouri because it produced flour for local markets and also manufactured paper products such as checkers and cards. In 1865 an oil well was drilled near Warrensburg and production began soon afterward; this provided Warrensburg with its first real prosperity. Heavy industry declined during World War II but revived after the war; today much of the older milling capacity remains active but some new interests have arisen since then including several restaurants and offices which have sprung up around town center One early resident to stand out for her activism roles within her community was Mrs Anna Pryor who led efforts to purchase playground equipment for children in need and founded what is now known as "Pryor Park" on North Main Street adjacent to what is now the high school campus From 1902 until her death in 1984 Mrs Anna Pryor worked tirelessly to make sure that all aspects of life were given equal opportunity including: creating Citizen's Councils throughout their village to advocate for better services from government officials; working tirelessly with other communities throughout America through fund-raising drives both publically as well as privately; providing leadership service opportunities within her church where she served as pastoress from 1951 until her death Mrs Anna Pryor will be greatly missed not only due to her passion for giving back but also due to her impact on so many lives outside of our small town

Warrensburg is a small town in Potter County, Missouri, United States. The population was 957 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1837 by Captain James W. Warren and his wife, Rebecca Caldwell, as a post office on the east side of the river where today's community stands. The name "Warrensburg" is derived from an English word meaning "a place to pasture cattle." The town began as a Mormon settlement in 1839. In 1850, it became part of Kansas Territory when that state was created. In 1861, the Union Army established military headquarters at Warrensburg and many of its citizens served in the American Civil War there as soldiers or volunteers. After the war ended, much of the town changed hands until it reverted to Mexican ownership in 1885. In 1907, Warrensburg merged with neighboring Kingston to form what is now known as Kingston-Warrenburg Township. In 1920, it again amalgamated with Kingston-Warrenburg Township to form Warrensburg-Kingston Township; and finally in 1974 it reorganized into its present form through an action known asthe Consolidation Act which eliminated most township offices and made all residents voting members of a single township board (the Board of Commissioners). There are currently 11 townships within Warrensburg: Kingston-Warrenburg Township (formed 1907), Unincorporated Area (1927), White Sands Township (1929), Pottersville Township (1894), Reynoldsville Township (1898), Topeka Township (1897), Buchanan Heights Borough Council District No 2(2006) and Harper City Borough Council District No 3(2010). It should be noted that while these eleven borough councils may technically fall within Warrensburg township boundaries they more typically represent areas located outside of its borders such as Topeka or Harper City which are instead governed by their respective village or city governments
