The National Guard of the United States of America (NGUSA) was organized on July 1, 1903 under the Authority of the President by Executive Order No. 9771. The organization initially consisted of four companies- one from each state. On November 15, 1923, the organization was renamed the Missouri National Guard and increased in size to twelve companies (two from each county). In 1938, all national guard troops were reorganized into regimental commands and brigades and most battalion commanders were elevated to colonel status. Thereafter there has been no significant change in their organizational structure or mission since then. The first unit to be raised in Troy was Company C, 2nd Battalion, 5th Regiment Missouri National Guard on December 12, 1903. Company C served as a garrison unit until it was redesignated as Company B on January 4, 1904; then again as Company A on May 8, 1912 before becoming Company C again effective May 10th 1912. On October 20th 1916 an act passed Congress entitled The National Defense Act of 1916 which authorizes training for two rifle divisions within three months should any war occur abroad; this provision also authorized a detachment for duty with American Expeditionary Forces in France during World War I which became known as "The Troy Division" The company arrived at Camp Funston near Paris Illinois on September 3rd 1917 and reported for duty at Fort Snelling Minnesota that same day Companies A & B disembarked transports at Pierpoint Harbor Louisiana on October 7th 1917 proceeded via Mobile Alabama where they relieved Field Artillery Battery #2 at Fort St Clair February 14th 1918 reached established position south of present day Enterprise Road north of Mankato April 9 1918 began operations against enemy forces southwest of present day Enterprise Road June 24 1918 celebrated its fourth anniversary being activated under authority given by Congress November 25 1920 changed name to "National Guardsmen Of America" By order dated March 6 1921 named "Task Force 1005" At present time company is designated "National Guard Blue", Headquarters outfit is blue field jackets with white lettering above rank bars Coyote Upholstery is available upon request

Troy, Missouri is a small town located in Star County, Missouri. The population was 1,854 at the 2000 census and 2,070 at the 2010 census. Troy is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The first settlers in Troy were farmers who arrived in 1836. By 1845, there were about 100 people living in Troy. The first school in Troy was built on Commerce Street in 1847 by John Aiken and his family. In 1865, Mrs. Elizabeth Hovey donated land to build a Institute for Girls as a way to provide education for girls not available through traditional means such as private schools or parochial systems. In 1870, the first store was opened in town by Simeon Potter and Brothers Ltd.. This store became the nucleus of what would become known as "The Potter's Store" around which other businesses developed over time including barber shops, general stores, butcher shops etcetera. In 1907, Mr./Mrs./Son-in-law Wm./Haley Davenport donated land to build the First Methodist Church which still stands today on High Street near Main Avenue (now State Route 4). In 1912/13 construction began on what would become known as "Davenport Park" adjacent to today's High School campus across from Interstate 55 just south of downtown Troy proper. With its grassy lawns and beautiful setting overlooking downtown Troy and rural countryside beyond it – this park quickly became one of the most popular areas for recreational activities within town limits during its early years! Today's First Methodist Church remains one of the highlights of local history and has been used as both a museum and community center since its original dedication back in 1912!
In 1836, the population of Troy was only 706. By 1870, it had grown to 1,442. In 1907, the city was merged with neighboring St. Louis and became one of the five cities in Missouri that were consolidated into a single municipality.
