The United States Air Force has been deploying gift-gift history in St. Joseph, Missouri for more than half a century. The service's Old Guard unit, the 4th Bombardment Wing (4 BW), is responsible for celebrating military and civilian life with Annual Christmas Parties at Tinker AFB. Since 1961, the 4 BW's Annual Christmas Party has been an opportunity for all members of the community to come together and enjoy a festive evening out with family and friends. This year's party will be held on Saturday, December 5th from 6-9pm at the Todd Army Ammunition Plant in St. Joseph. This year's theme is "Flying With Friends." Guests will be able to visit the museum while enjoying refreshments from local restaurants in attendance as well as access to displays about USAF history and missions. There will also be opportunities to make donations to support military veterans or children in need through The Salvation Army or Make A Wish Foundation before leaving for their evening of fun!

St. Joseph, Missouri is a small community located in northwestern Missouri on the border of Arkansas and Kansas. The town has been inhabited for over a thousand years and today it remains an agricultural center with large cattle herds. The first European settlers in the area were French traders who arrived in 1730 and named the area after St. Joseph, the patron saint of France. In 1831, when Missouri became a state, St. Joseph was one of its most important towns and was designated as its capital. In 1865, during the American Civil War, General Sterling Price's army passed through the town on their way to battle at Pea Ridge. Many of Price's men are buried here in nearby Mount Pleasant Cemetery. In 1907, while still an agricultural center, St.Joseph experienced some rapid growth when oil was discovered near by and people began arriving to take advantage of its resources. Today, much of what once made up the downtown district have been lost to development but there remain several significant buildings including the old courthouse which is now used as a museum; and three churches which remain active within the community: Saint John's Episcopal Church (founded in 1851), First Baptist Church (founded in 1864) and Holy Cross Catholic Parish (founded in 1916). Today, St.Joseph is an active community with a rich history that continues to make waves today thanks to its many cultural amenities such as two casinos; two theaters; Several restaurants including Steak House & Brewery; four dance/dance studios; two bowling alleys; five golf courses; three tennis courts; six stadiums (four amateur); seven museums (four public/three private); sixteen wells developments totaling more than 1 million gallons each were drilled or completed between 2002-2007 statewide throughout northwest Missouri making this one of America’s leading energy production regions
St. Joseph, Missouri is a city in St. Louis County, Missouri, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It began as a small community on the banks of the Salt River and was named for Saint Joseph, the founder and first bishop of Rome. In 1847, it became an independent municipality. The City of St. Joseph was incorporated on November 10, 1847 by Act of Congress and dedicated to the Saints who had made their home there before them. The original plat included only a few blocks north of present-day Main Street between Second and Third Streets NW (now Washington streets). A post office called "St. Joe" was established in 1851 located just south of Market Place NW on what is now First Street NE; this building still stands today as part of theOld National Bank Building housed throughout much of downtown StJoseph's history until its demolition in 1998-99). By 1870, when population reached 635 residents, it had become clear that further development would be necessary so that the fledgling town could support itself financially and protect its unique character; accordingly, Act No. 8 of 1870 authorizedbuiltup areas to be platted eastward adjoining Central Avenue extending from 3rd Street WNW all the way to Market Street NE... zoning maps dating back to about 1886 show that much later additions were made to both eastern portions (northwest corner 3rd & State) incorporate bylaw #5 which authorizes erectionof several blocks off ThirdStreetWNW immediately north thereof including three buildings fronting FourthStreetNE within limits previously assigned thereto viz:the old White Chapel brick house now occupied by Masonic Temple/First Church - built 1800 ; Commercial Block currently occupied by Denny's restaurant - Built 1886 ; Second block erected presently includes two buildings frontsing FifthStreetNWEastoftheWhiteChapel site now occupied by Kmart store - Built 1984 . Some early growth took place in what is now University Park but most development occurred along Central Avenue which forms today's boundary between East StJoseph Township west side and North StJoseph Township east side with businesses developing along 2nd street nw from Centre Ave where steamboats usedto dock loading goods during prohibition days while larger vessels anchored offshore moored nearby waiting their turn for passage
