The Sedalia Shotgun Club was founded in 1892. The club has held many shootings over the years including the current annual event on December 7th, which celebrates its centennial. The club is made up of individuals from all walks of life who range in age from 8 to 80 years old. They shoot shotguns for fun and competition as well as for target shooting. In addition to their Annual Christmas Party, the club holds a number of other activities such as Trap & Skeet shoots, NRA meetings, and Machine Gun Show. These events are all opportunities for members to meet others in the firearms community and exchange information about shotguns and gun rights. One of the most important aspects of the Sedalia Shotgun Club is its membership culture. This is where they maintain a strong sense of tradition and community within their group. Sedalia is a town in Sedalia County, Missouri, United States. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the St. Louis metropolitan area. The first settlers in what is now Sedalia were German immigrants who arrived there in 1837. They founded a small village called Berlin and started to build homes. In 1838, they moved to what is now Sedalia and built the first schoolhouse there. The townsite was named for General James Bemis Sedgwick, commander of the forces that fought against Native Americans in Kansas during the Mexican-American War (1846-48). The first post office was established in 1839 and remained open until 1861; it was renamed Sedalia after General James Bemis Sedgwick's home county, Missouri. The present courthouse was built between 1868 and 1870 by local builders using funds raised by a special auction of goods confiscated from Native Americans during the war. The building still stands today as one of Sedalia's most iconic landmarks. In 1865, following the end of World War I, Sedalia became an important center for cotton farming due to its location on the Mississippi River floodplain near Cairo, Illinois; this led to its nickname "Cairo on the Mississippi." During Prohibition (1928- 1933), many businesses located in downtown were either closed or converted into speakeasies; however, all but two were reopened within a few months after repeal efforts failed. In recent years, Sedalia has become known for its large outdoor shopping malls which include several high-end stores such as Sears Holdings Corporation (Shoppers' Mall) and Macy's Incorporated (Mall of America). Although agriculture remains dominant today among sedalian residents', services have become more prevalent over time with development around town bringing new businesses such as law enforcement agencies (including: police substations located at both Town Hall Plaza locations), chiropractic offices/spa complexes/health clubs/bars/restaurants etc., while also adding professional sports teams including professional basketball team St Louis Hawks and baseball team Cardinals;; these days most sedalian citizens are generally employed outside their homes through various forms of technological advances such as online job postings or social media platforms like LinkedIn or Facebook
Sedalia was founded in 1833 by a wagon train of settlers. The town grew rapidly because of the proximity to the American Civil War and its boom in manufacturing. In 1870, the town became an incorporated municipality. Sedalia has experienced several waves of population growth over the years, including a high population concentration during World War II when more than 100,000 people lived in the town.
