The community had a population of 257 people when it incorporated as a village in 1912. Its name change to Raytown Village Incorporation on April 14, 1924. In 2003, the town voted to be annexed into Kansas City. According to the 2010 Census, there are 1,890 people living in Raytown who identify as being of European descent (excluding Native Americans). There are also 191 African American residents and 2 Hispanics/Latino residents who self-identify as such. In terms of ancestry, these populations include: Irish (20%), German (10%), Italian (10%), Scandinavian (5%), British (3% each), and East Indian (1%)."2010 US Census
